First on Fox: A union representing approximately 18,000 customs and border patrol agents (CBP) puts pressure on the Senate democrats to avoid partial government before midnight on Wednesday.
Congress now has about 12 hours to maintain funded federal agencies or potentially risk thousands of civil servants and a break from key government services, the Senate, due to voting on a short-term bill extending the current financing levels until November 21 at the end of the afternoon on Tuesday.
The Democrats have so far kept firm in their requests for major concessions on health care to include in any financing agreement, while the Republicans continue to put pressure on left legislators to stop the upcoming closure.
“On behalf of the men and women patrolling and obtaining our borders, we strongly support the continuous resolution of the Bipartite House (CR) and exhort the Senate to pass immediately and send it to President Trump for his signature,” said the president of the National Border Patrol Council, Paul Perez, Fox News Digital.

Perez warned that a federal financing period “threatens our ability to do our work and our ability to maintain the safest border in the history of our country”.
“A government closure means that we are without critical mission funding for patrol vehicles, roads, radios, infrastructure and agents’ salary,” said Perez.
“What our agents do every day – ensuring the security of the American people and the sovereignty of our great country – is not a game, is life and death. We hope that our elected Democrats leaders at Congress will cease playing political games and finance our government.”
The whip of the majority of the house Tom Emmer, R-minn., Supported approval, saying to Fox News Digital: “There is a sad irony in the fact that the Democrats threaten to hold border patrol agents hostage unless we reintegrate the agents of the border patrol financed by taxpayers for pioneer for the political game.”
He referred to the alternative proposal of the Democrats of the Chamber for a short -term financing bill asking for a repeal of the Medicaid cups adopted in the Big and Beautiful Bill (OBBB) of the GOP in July.

The majority of the provisions led by the Republicans in the OBBB which aimed at federal funding for health care ranging to illegal immigrants have not been part of the final legislation.
The Democrats also put pressure on an extension of subsidies in Obamacare which were improved during the Pandemic COVID-19 but which must expire at the end of this year.
Republican leaders have pointed out to open up to discussions on Obamacare, officially called the affordable care law, but have excluded their inclusion in the seven -week financing bill. They also called the requests to make MEDICAID DES REPUBLICAINs back down.
The bill, called a continuous resolution (CR), would maintain the current levels of financing of the government almost stable until November 21 to give the congress more time to conclude an agreement on the expenses of the financial year 2026. It would also include around 88 million dollars for increased security for legislators, the White House and the Judicial Branch – which has bipartite support.

The house exceeded the CR largely along the festive lines. But in the Senate, where a threshold of 60 votes is necessary to overcome an obstacle and consider a bill, at least democratic support is necessary.
The last time that a confrontation of government closure occurred, it was in March, when 10 Democrats in the Senate broke out from its party to help pass the CR of the Republicans.
There were no Democrats in the Senate of States on the American-Mexican border in this number.
