The Governor of Louisiana Landry requests federal aid for the deployment of the National Guard

Louisiana governor Jeff Landry said that he has officially asked Federal Aid (FRG) to activate up to 1,000 Louisiana National Guard staff under title 32.
Landry announced her intentions during an appearance on “Hannity” on Monday evening, declaring that his request for federal aid had been submitted to the Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
Landry has cited “ongoing public security problems concerning high crime rates throughout the state”, adding that local police are overwhelmed by the number of homicides, cars and gang violence which “considerably exceeds the national average”.

He also says that labor shortages have been aggravated by hurricanes and other natural disasters, which made the police already thin at its break in its break.

In the past, national guard deployments have proven to be effective, said Landry, indicating a 50% drop in crime during fat Tuesday and other major events earlier this year.

Although not everyone is on board, like local officials from Shreveport and New Orleans have expressed their concerns, Landry insists that the crisis requires urgent action.
His request is now in Washington, leaving the fight against Louisiana’s security in Hegseth’s hands, which will decide whether support is necessary.
