The Ministry of Justice has filed a complaint against Minnesota for its sanctuary policies which, according to the Trump administration, interferes with the implementation of the federal government on illegal immigration.

The complaint, filed on Monday, appoints the state of Minnesota, the county of Hennepin, the sheriff of the county of Hennepin, Dawanna S. Witt, the Attorney General of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, and the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, as defendants.

The complaint argues that not only are the sanctuary policies illegal under federal law, but lead to the release of dangerous criminals which would otherwise be subject to suppression, including illegal immigrants recognized guilty of serious crimes.

“Minnesota officials compromise the security of their own citizens by allowing illegal foreigners to bypass the legal process,” said prosecutor General Pamela jumps in a statement. “This Ministry of Justice will continue to bring disputes against any jurisdiction which uses sanctuary policies to challenge federal law and undermine the application of laws.”

Saint Paul has described the trial as an effective attack on “long -standing separation order from the city – an essential policy that promotes public security, strengthens community confidence and reflects Saint Paul’s commitment to serve and protect all residents, regardless of immigration status.”

Bondi puts the sanctuary cities at the national level to the opinion after the federal DC police control

“City employees do not work for the president, we work for people who live here. We will be with our immigrant and refugee neighbors, no matter how many unconstitutional complaints made by the White House,” said the mayor of St. Paul Melvin Carter in a statement. “We have already proven our determination in two successful actions in justice this year, and we are impatient to win our third consecutive legal victory against this embarrassing federal regime.”
