The candidate of the Democratic Congress of South Texas, Bobby Pulido, is criticized for having fueled a “disease” and “spreading hatred” through his rhetoric against President Donald Trump and the Republicans, in particular in the light of a fatal anti-winning shooting in Dallas this week.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, the former republican representative of Texas Mayra Flores, the first woman of Mexican origin was elected to the Congress, criticized Pulido and other Democrats for having “attacked our men and our women at the service of this country for having applied the laws”.

“It is this type of hateful rhetoric that leads to the loss of innocent lives,” said Flores. “And because of this, we see all these shootings, and that will continue to occur because, in the end, this hateful rhetoric comes from the members of the Congress, the Senators.”

“They must give an example,” she continued. “The Americans turn to these individuals. And therefore, if they see that they distribute hatred, then it charges them with hatred also towards our men and our women (in the application of laws).”

This occurs while the National Committee of the Republican Congress (NRCC) accused Pulido, who is a star of Tejano music, of having a “long history of engaging in a violent and extreme political rhetoric”.

The committee said that in spite of Pulido condemning political violence, such as the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and calling for rhetoric on both sides, his own words over the years have not been in conformity with this call.

On September 10, Pulido posted on X: “I don’t care which side of the political aisle you are, what happened to Charlie Kirk is odious. Political rhetoric must be brought back to both sides. I pray for him, his family and also for our country.”

According to the NRCC, however, the inflammatory rhetoric of Pulido dates back years, in particular by dressing like a Trump soaked in blood for Halloween in 2015. He also suggested that Trump voters are racist, commenting on a news in 2017 on Californian farms that are not disclosed due to the president’s immigration policies saying: “This is what racist America wanted, that’s what you have.”

In another 2016 article, Pulido wrote that Trump was “racist all along” and that “his candidacy plays on the right of the Alt”.

In August, he accused the Republicans of “literally becoming everything they accused others of being. Marxists and fascists”.

Pulido also expressed his support for the Black Lives Matter movement by publishing a black square on his Instagram for “Blackout Tuesday” and by sharing a video of a Houston BLM rally with the “#Godblestexas” legend.

He said in a video that “there are many big cops there”, but that “at the end of the day, there is no country that does not oppose”.

Referring to allegedly racist police officers in a post in X 2017, Pulido used blasphemies in Spanish to describe them.

Speaking directly to Pulido and other democrats, Flores asked them to “stop playing political games with our men and women who are only doing their job”.

“In the end, we are all Americans. We want the best for our communities, and they should not give priority to their political party on security,” she said.

Flores said that for many of those who grew up listening to Pulido’s music, he has a particular responsibility to give an example of civility and respect.

“He is an icon in the Tejano industry. Many people admire his music, and therefore has the obligation to talk about this question and show respect for our men and women (the police) because he has a huge base of fans,” she said.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, the spokesperson for the NRCC, Reilly Richardson, said: “Bobby Pulido’s story to engage in extreme political rhetoric is completely disqualifying.”

“Radical democrats like Pulido shamelessly demonized ice agents and our police for years,” said Reilly.

“A deep and omnipresent disease infected the radical left in this country, and Democrats like Bobby Pulido nourish it,” he added.

Meanwhile, another Texas chief, republican representative Ronny Jackson, said the problem goes far beyond Pulido.

He described the attack on the installation of Dallas Ice last week “horrible”, saying that “proves that the incessant attacks of the left against the police put our officers in danger”.

“It has passed that the Democrats are responsible for their violent rhetoric, who fueled these attacks and joins the fight to protect our brave ice officers!” said Jackson.

Pulido did not respond to requests for comments from Fox News Digital at the time of publication.
