The weight loss doctor reveals how GLP-1 drugs also target chronic diseases

Dr. Sue Decotiis, a certified weight loss doctor in New York, acknowledged that GLP-1 drugs can target “systemic problems” throughout the body.

“The heart, the kidneys, the diabetes, the neurogenetic diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, dependence, psychiatric disorders, autoimmune diseases-they all have one thing in common, and it is deregulated metabolism,” she told Fox News Digital in an interview with the camera.

GLP -1s – including semaglutides (Ozempic and Wegovy) and Tirzepatides (Mounjaro and Zepbounde) – have special effects on body multi -system, “said Decotiis.

These drugs are effective for weight loss because they increase insulin levels, which transforms the body into a “fat combustion machine”, in addition to suppressing appetite.

“I feel more comfortable with this than some of the great pharmaceutical drugs that have been out for many years,” she added.

For example, a patient with rheumatoid arthritis can also have a little weight to lose, which would make a candidate for a GLP-1 at low doses, said Decotiis.
