Trump cancels the meeting with the Democrats as the government closed is looming

Cincinnati Bengals have missed the playoffs in the past two seasons. They finished 9-8 in the two years, despite a loaded offense directed by the quarter-Arrière Joe Burrow (in good health).

During the offseason, the Bengals refused to re-sign the defender all-pro Trey Hendrickson. He directed the league in bags last season with 17.5. Bengals have planned to exchange Hendrickson. They then contacted him for a one -year contract just before the first match.

Cincinnati wrote the Defensive Shemar Stewart of Texas A & M in the first round last spring. But then, the Bengals and Stewart fought on a contract.

Tit for tat: house censorship become “snap” solutions

Football is on the lawn

The county of Tuscaloosa initially pierced his victory over the city of Bessemer.

Bengals have been less parsimonious in recent years when you distribute dollars to high -level players. But the owner Mike Brown has an stingy reputation. And despite a list of talent, the Bengals are unequaled in mediocrity. They never won the Super Bowl. This feeds a story on the franchise.

Stewart summed up the Bengals by speaking to Sports Illustrated:

“You all want to win arguments (more) than winning matches,” he said.

The “arguments” and the “games” are now underway in Washington, DC to avoid a government closure next week.

The question is what matters to winning an “argument” and what constitutes a “game”. Republicans and Democrats can compete in both categories in the coming days. A deadline for financing the government is looming at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday evening. In fact, the two parties could win victories in the argument category. But the gathering of a real title in the Win column is a completely different company. In addition, the rules of this tournament do not dictate that a side emerge victorious and that the other loses. In fact, the two parties could carry out losing campaigns.

That said, do the parties have more interest in echoing the Bengals of Cincinnati and in winning “arguments?” Or do they prefer to win “games” and avoid a government closure.

“I have no meetings or updates to plan for you today,” said White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt during the briefing early on Monday afternoon.

But there was a sparkle of hope a few hours later.

The word came that the chief of the Hakeem Jeffries, Dn.y., minority chief, and the head of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., would go to the White House Thursday to meet President Donald Trump. None of the two leaders had nun with the president since he took office in January. But we were not quite sure that this session could accomplish.

“We want a clean financing extension to keep the government open. That’s all we recommend,” said Leavitt.

Democrats have grown to something else. They recommended a renewal of subsidies to affect the cost of Obamacare. The price for health care coverage for millions of Americans is expected to skyrocket at the start of next year unless the congress is involved. Democrats want to resume other health care reductions that were part of the major Congress Bill this summer. Democrats also insist on insurance that the president will not return to money for the programs already distributed by the congress. Finally, the Democrats want the administration to restore reduced dollars of the public dissemination company.

The house is out of session this week – and prospectively until October 7 – after having passed a provisional spending plan supported by the GOP at the end of last week. But the president of the Mike Johnson room, R-La., Materialized in the Capitol early Tuesday morning.

Johnson told Fox News that it was skeptical that a meeting between President Trump, Schumer and Jeffries “be necessary”. But the speaker noted that he would attend the conclave of the oval office.

“Why would I not be there? It is the legislative branch which communicates with the executive power. If there is such a meeting with the leaders, then (leader of the majority of the Senate) John Thune, Rs.d., and I will certainly be part,” said Johnson.

It was news that Johnson and Thune had to be part of a meeting with the president on the financing of the government. But it would have been a news to Johnson that Trump nixed the meeting. A few moments later, Trump published a long screed on Truth Social, rubbing the session.

“I decided that no meeting with their Congress leaders could be productive,” he wrote.

He argued that democratic demand would provide “free health care for illegal foreigners”, as well as “transgender surgery of minors funded by the government. He also said that the Democrats’ proposal “would allow men to play in female sports and essentially create transgender operations for everyone”.

We do not know where the dispositions that the president have cited are in the democratic long-term. But the fact is that the government will close early Wednesday morning unless the Senate can obtain democratic votes to overcome an obstacle. The Chamber adopted a provisional bill renewing funding at current levels last week. Only one democrat, representative Jared Golden, D-Maine, voted “yes”.

But the Senate is a different animal. The Republicans only have 53 votes there. Sixty votes are necessary to break an obstacle. So, if the Democrats do not accept the requests of the GOP, there is a closure. And, on the other hand, if the Republicans refuse to grant the Democrats their wishes, there is a closure.

Avoiding a stop could be considered winning “matches”. But we are not certain if the teams are still interested in this competition.

“The statement that Donald Trump has published today has been disturbed,” said Jeffries, adding that “Trump still has chickens”.

“Today seems to be the day of anger for Donald Trump,” said Schumer. “He is not up to par. He fled even before the negotiations begin.”

Since the house focused on his provisional bill, Johnson reduced everyone – canceling the days of session scheduled for next week when the Chamber could at least be able to compete with any spending bill from the Senate. But the Republicans are categorical that it is the bill of the Chamber or nothing.

“You don’t plan to bring the house back to a stadium now?” I asked Johnson.

“The house is in the district work period at the moment. We have done our job in the house. We did it early as far as funding is concerned. People have a lot to do in their districts. So we are ready at any time. But the plan would be to come back when it is necessary. But the current plan is not to have days of session on September 29 and 30,” he said.

“Is this a bad look if the house is not there and the government stops despite what you have done?” I have.

“The government would not close before the first on October 1,” said Johnson, slightly opening the door to a potential recall. “But if Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries decide to close the government, they have created the problem.”

So, we are less than a week before a possible closure of the government. Apparently in September, just before the end of the exercise, the chances of a government closure are “high” and there is almost no way to avoid closing. However, almost every time, democrats and republicans, the room and the Senate, find a way to eliminate a closure at the last minute. In fact, this could be the case this time. But the calculation is different, the room anywhere to find, and the Senate left with just the bill of the Chamber. This is only exacerbated by a lack of negotiations.

We can only imagine that the arguments that could have emanated from the oval office had been huddled with Jeffries and Schumer this week. They may have considered a television meeting with the president as the perfect forum for snails. The Democrats had trouble for months to demonstrate at their base that they “fight”. That said, Trump was perhaps ready for an inclination, with his verbal fight with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in February. And who can forget the former lecturer of the Chamber, Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Bringing a meeting with Trump during his first mandate?

At this point, everyone is trying to win arguments. Not games. And we will really know if they have lost the match when the new government’s exercise starts at 12:00 p.m. next Wednesday.
