Trump warns against the Second World War as the tensions of Russia-Nato increase on Ukraine

NATO has been on high alert since Russia has invaded Ukraine over three and a half years ago, but a recent peak in the airspace violations of the Alliance has increasingly concerned about war warnings with Moscow in Moscow is no longer theoretical, but inevitable.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States could “find himself in the Second World War” during the Russian war in Ukraine and conceded that Russian President Vladimir Putin “dropped” for his refusal to end his military campaign.

A day later, Russia sent three fighter planes to the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, in direct and clear violation of its airspace, which prompted another NATO member to trigger article 4 for the second time in as many weeks.

Russian jets violate Estonian airspace, says the Minister of Foreign Affairs

“Russia again tests NATO – dozens of drones in Poland last week, drones in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and now fighter planes in the Estonian sky. These are deliberate provocations,” said Lithuanian Minister of Devile Sakaliene to Fox News. “These are deliberate tests – tests of our preparation, our resolution and the limits of our deterrence.”

Sakaliene said that Friday’s violation was only the last of “a pressure climbing scheme of Russia”.

“For Estonia, for Poland, for Lithuania, for the whole oriental flank of NATO, it is a direct threat-not only for territorial integrity, but for the security of citizens,” she added.

The Lithuanian Minister of Defense warned that the greatest line of defense of NATO is currently holding, apart from its real military preparation, shows a united front to dissuade Moscow from taking direct measures against a member of NATO and provoking what could become a world war.

“Our greatest risk is currently a calculation error in Russia,” said Sakaline. “Does Russia think NATO will not allow violations of its territory?” Does Russia think that Europe will retaliate with (the) United States?

“It is now the last line of defense between if and when (war with Russia occurs),” she added.

The concerns about NATO’s direct conflicts with Moscow increased earlier this month after a swarm of at least 19 Russian drones not only flew over Polish airspace, but forced a multi-year response when NATO, for the first time since the start of the war, drew on Russian active ingredients and dropped up to four drones that represented a threat.

While Trump suggested that drone swarm could have been an error, Poland refuted this and said it was “deliberate” and a “planned provocation”.

Drone strikes have long been a privileged war tool for Russia in its operation against Ukraine, the number of strikes culminating in July with some 6,297 long -range drones drawn across the country.

This figure plunged to 4,216 drones licensed in August. Although in particular, the majority of these drones were dismissed between August 16 and the 31st, when some 3,001 drones were deployed from the day after Trump met Putin in Alaska on August 15.

An American company, which was less than 30 miles from two other NATO nations, Hungary and Slovakia, was also struck by “several” cruise missiles at the end of August.

“The scope of Russia’s air attacks in Ukraine really increases. They use more drones, more rockets, and they should still increase,” said Sakaline.

“We must admit and adapt to this new reality. The high intensity war by Russia against Ukraine is underway,” said the Minister of Defense. “This means that more and more UAV will go away in the territories of limiting countries, and even more.”

Russia has turned more and more towards the tactics of the gray area, which involve incidents that fall below the open war threshold, but which allow Russia to test the resolution and response capacities of NATO.

During the last month, Poland saw three distinct incidents in which its airspace was violated by Russian drones, including drones bearing explosive components that crossed its airspace in Ukraine and Belarus.

Only three days after the Swarm drone bombed the Polish air defense systems, a Russian drone crossed Romanian airspace and prompted a French fighter jet and a Polish helicopter responding under the Eastern Sentry Operation of NATO – a defensive posture that the Alliance launched a previous day.

These events occurred after Lithuania at the end of July was forced to ring the alarm following two distinct incidents in which the Russian drones Gerber violated its borders, including one which transported explosives.

But these tactics are not the only threats that security experts in recent weeks have reported as Moscow behavior.

Earlier this month, the Institute for the War Study (ISW) based in Washington, DC drew attention to an editorial published by the former Russian president and current president of the Security Council Dmitri Medvedev on September 8 in the point of sale of information sponsored by the State, which used the language which directly reflected the rhetoric by the Kremlin in the race for Ukraine.

In his article, Medvedev accused Finland of being “Russophobic” and said: “The thirst for profit at the expense of Russia was installed in the Finnish spirits at the time of Hitler.”

He also said that Helsinki had attempted to erase “the historical and cultural identity” of the ethnic Russians and declared that he had joined NATO under the “demand” of defense, but in reality, was secretly preparing for war against Russia, ISW reported.

Medvedev’s comments were not independent threats. Several Kremlin officials, including Putin, who said that “there will be problems” after Finland joined NATO, said the Alliance would use Finland as “springboard” to attack Russia.

“Russia has regularly settled conditions to attack NATO in recent years: Moscow has been standing from new divisions and optimizing its command and control seat on the eastern NATO flank,” said George Barros, Russia Main Analyst with Isw, in Fox News Digital. “The Kremlin Information War apparatus makes affirmations and justifications to explain why Finland, Baltic States and Poland are not real countries.

“These are the preparations prior to the future war that Moscow is preparing,” he warned.

Sakaline has echoed these concerns and also underlined the use by Russia of “soft power”, often used through social media and traditional media, to influence the perception of the public, what she warned is “alarming”.

“We see an image of a very aggressive country which invests a disproportionate quantity of its funds in their military capacity,” said the Minister of Defense. “Despite heavy losses every week, each month, they advance in Ukraine and, at the same time, they widen their capacities.

“This raises considerable doubts if all this mass of military power is only accumulated for Ukraine,” said Sakaline.
