President Donald Trump and the first lady had to transfer from Marine One to a support helicopter on Thursday after a hydraulic problem forced an unforeseen landing in a local aerodrome on the way to Stansted Airport in England.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told journalists that the switch was due to a “minor hydraulic problem”.

“By an abundance of caution, the pilots landed in a local aerodrome before reaching Stansted airport,” said Leavitt. “The President and the First Lady rose aboard the support helicopter.”
