Arizona provides for the Commemorative Charlie Kirk motorway after a recent assassination

The Arizona could soon devote a highway to kill the founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, who has lived and worked in the state.

The president of the Arizona Senate, Warren Petersen, presents legislation at the next session, from January, which would rename the 202 state road as “Charlie Kirk Memorial Loop 202.”

“Wednesday, September 10, 2025, will be forever noted in history as a dark day when evil in its most true form was fully exposed,” Petersen said in a statement.

“Charlie Kirk was murdered in blood by a loose terrorist and has been targeted for his influence. But we have to move forward. Although Charlie Kirk cannot be replaced, this effort can ensure that his inheritance lives,” he added.

Commemorative motorways are not a new concept in the state of the Grand Canyon, because the 303 loop in the west of the county of Maricopa is named Bob Stump Memorial Parkway, after the late Congress. The 202 loop covers important parts of the East Valley of the Phoenix region, notably Chandler, Temple and Mesa.

A section of the loop is named after the deceased Democratic representative Ed Pastor, Kjzz reported in 2019.

“We all have a role to play in pursuing Charlie’s inheritance,” added Petersen. “By the grace of God, by reversing this highway, we can make sure that its name, mission and witness to the Gospel continue for future generations.”

Arizona became a flash point after the assassination of Charlie Kirk last Wednesday at the University of Utah Valley, while the life celebration service is scheduled for Sunday at the Glendale State Farm Stadium.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the event, who features speakers such as his wife, Erika Kirk, as well as President Donald Trump and vice-president JD Vance.
