EXCLUSIVE: A Moderate Chamber Democrat said he believed that the Republicans and his own party failed in their responses to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“I am disappointed. I hope there are more efforts as a group, Democrats and Republicans, to express his condolences for his family and for him, and to express the real sadness he generates,” said representative Tom Suozzi, Dn.y., to Fox News Digital in an interview.
He warned later: “Punch, the counterpart is the natural reaction of most human beings. But we cannot continue to do this. It is very destructive, and it is a route of ruin.”
Suozzi said he believed that leaders, in particular, on both sides of the aisle should do more.

“I don’t think there was enough effort to try to bring us together,” he said.

“We must understand that there are very strong forces that work against us at the moment. Social media are, you know, be corrupt, I think, not only by our foreign opponents, but also by people who try to obtain a political or financial gain,” he said.
“I think we have to be very aware of the fact that there are people who use our freedom of expression and use our social media … who lie and put tampered videos and explosive comments to bring us … to hate each other.”
