Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could meet next week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Reunion comes as NATO notes increasing pressure to counter Russia more aggressive by applying a zone of air exclusion on Ukraine while Poland seeks to prevent more Russian drones from entering its air space.
“President Trump (had) several calls with Putin, several meetings with Zelenskyy, including probably next week in New York,” Rubio told the journalists of Israel for a few moments before his departure for Qatar. “He tries to do everything possible to end (war).”
