Rubio, Netanyahu calls Charlie Kirk Assassination threatens for democracy

Secretary of State Marco Rubio compared Charlie Kirk’s assassination to a “death in the family” for the White House, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that such political violence threatens democracy only in the world at a joint conference on Monday.
Rubio and Netanyahu presented joint remarks in Jerusalem after held a meeting to discuss the current war against Hamas in Gaza, when a journalist asked them about the ramifications of the assassination of Kirk.
Rubio called the “horrible” and “shocking” assassination to those of the White House, notably President Donald Trump and vice-president JD Vance, who were both close to Kirk.
“He was a personal friend for many people in this White House,” said Rubio about Kirk. “The president, to the vice-president, to several people. It was a combination, you know, political assassination, but also death in the family type event.”

Kirk’s work has entered into debates with people with opposite opinions and ideologies through university and online campuses. He was shot in a shot during a debate on the campus of the University of Utah Valley on Wednesday during a Tuning Point USA event.
Rubio and Netanyahu said that the assassination has marked a threat to democracy in its efforts to “intimidate” and “silence” the effort to keep the speech between people who are not only disagreement in America, but in the world.

“Once a company loses the ability of people with powerful disagreements to engage in the speech, the only option you have left is either silence or violence,” said Rubio. “Neither is acceptable. The two are very destructive.”

Netanyahu has requested rhetorically how democracies can address members of society who do not believe in freedom of expression and use violence.

“How do you really approach the threat of the toxic incentive of people who do not believe in freedom of expression, who believe in the imposition of their opinions on others? Talk about democracy, but who really want to trample democracy in dust? How do you manage this?” The Prime Minister asked.
Netanyahu then described democracy as “the non -violent resolution of the conflict within a society”.

“Resolutions and non-violent decisions are not taken by bullets, but by balance,” he said. “And these people are more and more violent.”
