For the first time since 2014, the Kansas City chiefs are 0-2 to start an NFL season after falling at the Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 in a revenge of the Super Bowl Lix at the Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
It was also the first time in his career that Patrick Mahomes has failed to win in the first two games of a season. Including the defeat of the Super Bowl against Philadelphia, Mahomes is on a sequence of three consecutive defeats for the first time in his career.
These are not the figures that the chiefs wanted to open the new season, but the Eagles ride with a 2-0 departure in 2025 thanks to a defense delivered on the road.

The defensive back recruit Andrew Mukuba achieved a hinge performance with half-bag, six plated and its first career interception. With the chefs down by three in the fourth quarter, Mahomes – who had a hard time finding consistency earlier in the match – faced the second goal of the 6 yards of the Eagles.
Rob Gronkowski says that the Eagles gave the plan of the NFL teams to beat the chefs: “ stand swinging ”
Looking for Travis Kelce on the goal line on a game that the duo had run countless times, Mahomes pulled a pass that Kelce could not secure. The ball rebounded on the hands of Kelce and in Mukuba, who returned it to 41 yards near the midfielder.
The Eagles quickly capitalized, walking 59 yards before Jalen Hurts marked on a quarter-back Sneak to extend the advance at 20-10.
This cushion turned out to be vital. Mahomes responded with a touch of 49 yards touched at Tyquan Thornton, reducing the deficit to three. But Philadelphia recovered the side kick that followed, AJ Brown fixing the ball to set up the last training of the Eagles.

Saquon Barkley, who carried 228 times for 88 yards and a touchdown, picked up the necessary distance to allow injuries to kneel. Hurts finished 15 out of 22 for 101 yards, managing the match while the defense stole the spotlight.
Mahomes went 16 out of 29 for 187 yards with a touchdown and led the chiefs by rushing with 66 yards and another score in seven races.
It was not the shootings that fans saw in February at the Superdome, but again, the Eagles proved to be the upper team.
