Florida investigate teachers on any rhetoric of assassination “vile” Charlie Kirk

The Florida Department of Education plans to investigate all the teachers of the State who engage in “vile and sanctionable behavior” linked to the assassination on Wednesday of the founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk.

“It was brought to my attention that some Florida educators have published despicable comments on social media concerning the horrible assassination of Charlie Kirk,” wrote the Florida education commissioner, Anastasios Kamoutsas, in a memo sent to the superintendents of state schools and shared with Fox News Digital.

“These few are not the reflection of high-quality great teachers who make up the vast majority of Florida educators. Nevertheless, I will endeavor to an investigation into each educator who engages in this vile and sanctionable behavior.”

Kamoutsas said that the memo should recall that teachers are “held at a higher level as civil servants”.

The memo came after a County teacher of Clay has been suspended for having pretended to share a position on social networks which said: “It may not be the Blowerology that we all hoped to wake up, but it is a narrow second for me,” Florida’s voice.

Kamoutsas shared a press article on the suspension Thursday, writing on X “, I congratulate the Superintendent Broskie @oneclayschools for having taken rapid measures to suspend a teacher who undressed the death of Charlie Kirk – a dedicated, Christian and family man. Such behavior is unacceptable and must have consequences.”

The governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, also shared the service note of the Ministry of Education on his page X, by writing: “Celebrating the assassination of a father of two young children of 31 years is disturbing; that the teachers would be among those who do it is completely unacceptable. Glad @stasikamatsas brings responsibility.

The memo noted that teachers are subject to ethical directives and said that the commissioner could use “a probable cause to sanction a certificate of educator”. The conduct of an educator who makes a student or his family feel “unwanted or do not want to participate in the learning environment” could also be a violation.

“Although educators have the rights to the first amendment, these rights do not extend without limit to their professional functions,” added Kamoutsas. “The personal opinions of an educator made public can undermine the confidence of the students and families they serve.”
