Chip Roy urges a new committee investigation after the assassination of Charlie Kirk

In a letter sent to GOP leaders on Thursday, one day after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Roy accuses left -wing groups of having caused the current volatile political environment.

“I respectfully ask that the House of Representatives forms a limited committee on” money, influence and power behind the assault on the radical left against America and the rule of law “, wrote Roy. “The models are undeniable: we are witnessing a sustained rupture of the law and the order, supplied not by chance, but by the anti-American ideology.”

Roy underlined the assassination attempts against President Donald Trump in 2024, as well as the 2017 congress baseball team trains, but added: “It goes far beyond the politicians and the people themselves”.

“We have seen targets placed at the Family Research Council and Charlie Kirk by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) only to attend shots to everyone, including Charlie’s tragic assassination just this week after being placed on the notorious of the Haine Card ” three months ago,” he wrote.

“We have seen dangerous networks such as an anti -anti -organizing, finance and deploy sophisticated terrorist campaigns attacking the police and destroying American cities. He also blamed the “leftist entities and public figures” for the recent crisis on the American border during the Biden administration.

“It is enough to follow the money to identify the authors of the coordinated anti-American assaults which are carried out against us and take all the measures under the law necessary to stop them,” wrote Roy.

“We can no longer claim to be linked together by shared ideals when a well -funded vitriolic framework of our American compatriots and foreign interests is at war with the very values ​​of faith in God, fidelity to our Constitution and respect for the principles of freedom and Western civilization which define us as Americans – including, in particular, the freedom practiced and exposed by Charlie Kirk.”

Kirk, the 31 -year -old founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in a university campus event in Utah in what Governor Spencer Cox labeled an assassination with political motivation.

This caused a wave of sorrow and anger from his allies on the right, as well as bipartite prayers for the Kirk family and calls to end the political violence that affected both sides.

In addition to the incidents mentioned by Roy, a legislator from the Democratic State in Minnesota was killed at home with her husband by a masked attacker disguised as a police officer.

Just earlier Thursday, a possible bomb threat forced the police to grease the headquarters of the National Democratic Committee (DNC) in Washington. However, it turned out to be credible.

But Kirk’s assassination is the last tragedy in a series of violent incidents that have been the subject of a violent escalation that made it fear elected officials and other political figures for their security.

Several Republicans, like Roy, accused Democrats of having fomented hatred towards the right.

Roy paid Kirk a poignant tribute on the steps of the American Capitol on Wednesday evening.

“We should be able to speak freely and speak with passion and to consider what we believe, without happening to that,” said the republican of Texas, his heavy voice.

“Our founding fathers were often in the throat of the other … You are either linked by something or that you are not. And I think we should be linked together by the much larger goal. And, you know, that’s what I’m going to stand up, and that’s how I’m going to go ahead. All that, we are here for something bigger and more than ourselves.”
