American flags outside the White House were seen in half of the staff on Wednesday evening after President Donald Trump ordered them to be lowered in honor of Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, a 31 -year -old husband, father, conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot dead in the neck while he was speaking during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

On his social truth, Trump posted: “In honor of Charlie Kirk, a very large American patriot, I order all the American flags in the United States lowered half mast until Sunday evening at 6 pm”

The images taken by Fox News Digital Wednesday showed that the massive American flags installed on each side of the White House towards Trump were half of the staff.

Trump Issued an Official Proclamation on Wednesday, Writing, “As a Mark of Respect for the Memory of Charlie Kirk, by the Authority Vested in Me President of the United States by the Constitution and the Laws of the United States of America, I Hereby Order that the flag of the united states shall Half-Staff at the White House and Upon All Public Buildings and Grounds, at All Military Posts and Naval Stations, and On All Naval Vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and through the United States and its territories and goods to Sunset, September 14, 2025. “

In the proclamation, he also ordered that the flags of all American embassies, legations, consular offices and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and ships and stations, also lower their flags to half of the staff in honor of Kirk.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump announced that Kirk had passed following the shooting on Truth Social, writing: “The big, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead”.

“No one understood or had better the hearts of young people in America than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathies go to his beautiful wife Erika, and to the family. Charlie, we love you!” wrote Trump.

The American Department of Agriculture also displayed images of an American flag outside its head office to half of the staff in honor of Kirk.

American flags were also seen in half of the staff in Orem, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City and the University of Utah Valley.

The governor of Utah Spencer Cox, a republican, also ordered that the state and UTAH flags are lowered to all the state installations “in recognition of the tragic death of Charlie Kirk”.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, a Republican, also announced that he had ordered Oklahoma flags to “honor the extraordinary life and heritage of Charlie Kirk”.

“Charlie’s memory, that of a tireless champion for freedom, will never die,” wrote Stitt.
