The members of the family of the victims of September 11 celebrated a judicial victory on Wednesday which, according to them, brings them closer to the holding of Saudi Arabia responsible for its alleged role in the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Brett Eagleson, whose father, John, was killed during the attacks, said at a press conference in New York, the “historic and historic decision” of the judge, issued two weeks ago, to move forward with long -term prosecution against the Saudi government was based on “indefensible evidence”.
“There were at least 13 representatives of the Saudi government linked to the Islamic Ministry of Affairs. They worked and operated in and outside the Saudi consulates and Saudi embassies,” said Eagleson. “There has been Canadian support from the Islamic Ministry of Affairs in Washington, DC, to their embassies in San Diego, to air pirates managers, to the air pirates themselves.”

Eagleson also appointed two people who, according to him, were part of an “advanced team” sent by the Saudi government to help the Al-Qaeda extremist group to plot the attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people. Saudi Arabia denied complaints.
“It has been 24 years of pain and anxiety and struggle for our families. What happened to this community, what happened to America that day, was horrible. However, what has happened and what has been going on for 24 years was an abomination,” said Eagleson about the stretched legal fight.

Judge George Daniels of the South New York District said in a 45 -page decision that a person could reasonably deduce that the two individuals knew that they supported the plane pirators who perpetrated the deadly attacks against the rounds of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Daniels said the evidence also showed that the couple followed the instructions from senior officials from the Saudi Arabia Embassy and that the court competent to examine the advantages of the complainants that the Saudi government has contributed to planning the attacks.
“Certain disputed facts cannot be resolved at this stage of the dispute, because the weighting of evidence or the evaluation of the credibility of the witnesses must take place at the trial,” wrote the judge. “Nevertheless, the entire body of undisputed facts and the preliminary evaluation by the court of certain disputed facts are adequate so that the Court concludes that the exercise of competence in the matter is appropriate here.”
Daniels’ decision means that the case of two decades probably goes to the trial, an Eagleson point at the press conference.

“This is what we have all known for 20 years,” said Eagleson. “It’s time for America to learn what we are fighting.
