A handful of Californian democrats, who are also a long -standing political enemies of President Donald Trump, have criticized a decision of the Supreme Court which raises restrictions on the immigration raids of the Trump administration in Los Angeles as “non -American” and opening the door to a “racial terrorism parade”.

Newsom, who fought with Trump who dates back to the president’s first administration, reacted on Monday to a 6-3 Supreme Court decision that the Trump administration can continue to deploy immigration raids in California, which blocked the decision of a lower court which interrupted such raids in the state.
The case was placed at the Supreme Court after a federal judge in July prevented the ice from carrying out raids in the County of Los Angeles, citing that they were probably unconstitutional because the federal agents held individuals for “a race or an apparent ethnicity”, or speaking Spanish. Immigration activists accused the federal government of targeting Latinos on the basis of criteria such as speech in Spanish. The ninth circuit confirmed the July ordinance before the Supreme Court.

Newsom, the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass and the California Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, each published on Monday a reprimand of the Decision of the Supreme Court, qualifying the immigration raids of the “in a blatant” administration.
“This administration has gathered and arrested residents of California, including American citizens and legal residents, depending on the color of their skin or the language they speak. This is manifestly illegal, but the Supreme Court allowed it to occur, the Republicans in progress. Schiff posted at X on Monday.
Schiff has a long documented disputed relationship with Trump, especially during the investigation of January 6, 2021, the first trial of Trump’s dismissal and the investigation in Russia. The California Democrat is currently under an investigation by the Ministry of Justice for alleged mortgage fraud discovered under the second Trump Administration.

“I want the whole nation to hear me when I say that it is not only an attack on the inhabitants of Los an Clean message on x.
Bass and Trump have also argued in the past, more recently during the summer, when federal immigration officials converged for the first time in the city, and in January, when forest fires torn southern California and devastated the Los Angeles region.
“Let me be clear: we do not allow the White House or the Supreme Court, to divide ourselves. And for all Angelenos, I will never stop fighting for your rights, your dignity and your security, despite the efforts of this administration to threaten them. We will remain united,” Bass continued in a press release.

The majority of the Supreme Court did not include an explanation for the decision. Judge Brett Kavanaugh, however, wrote a concordant opinion arguing that a combination of factors – such as race – could provide the authorities with reasonable suspicion to arrest a person and find out about their immigration status.

“To be clear, the apparent ethnic origin cannot provide reasonable suspicions; under the case law of this court concerning immigration judgments, however, it can be a” relevant factor “when considered with other salient factors,” wrote Kavanaugh.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor expressed dissent and argued that the emergency order approving such raids was “disturbing” and stressed the lack of explanation of the majority to this decision.
“We must not have to live in a country where the government can seize anyone Latino, speaks Spanish and seems to work at low wages,” wrote Sotomayor.
The Trump Administration is pursuing Los Angeles on sanctuary policies which “hinder” ice operations
The Trump administration celebrated the Supreme Court decision on Monday.

“This is a victory for the security of Californians and the rule of law,” said spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Security, Tricia McLaughlin, according to Politico. “The DHS police forces will not be slowed down and will continue to stop and remove the murderers, the rapists, the gang members and other criminal illegal foreigners …”
The ordinance of the Supreme Court follows the Trump administration ordering immigration officials to carry out raids in June to withdraw individuals illegally residing in Los Angeles, who nicknamed a “sanctuary” for illegal immigrants in November before Trump was insured in the oval office.

Riots and demonstrations then broke out in the city while local leaders, such as Newsom and Bass, criticized the repression of illegal immigrants from the Trump administration and offered words of support to illegal immigrants.
