Poland Downs Drones related to the Russian attack on Ukrainian territory

Polish defense officials say the soldiers killed drones who violated their airspace early on Monday.
The Deputy Minister of the Defense of Poland, Cezary Tomczyk, wrote on X that an operation to “neutralize the objects that have violated and exceeded the border of the Republican of Poland is underway”.
“State authorities, namely the president of the Republican of Poland and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, were informed,” wrote Tomczyk.
Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said the Polish army was “constant contact with NATO command”.

“The defense territorial forces have been activated for slaughtered drone ground research,” wrote Kosiniak-Kamysz on X. “We ask for calm and only share the announcements of military and state services.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he was “in constant contact with the president and the Minister of Defense” and that he had received a “direct report from the operational commander”.

The Operational Command of Poland of the Armed Forces has linked the incursion of the drone of its airspace to an attack against Ukraine neighboring by the Russian forces.
“Following the attack on the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory, there was an unprecedented violation of Polish airspace by drone -type objects,” said command on X. “This is an act of aggression that constituted a real threat to the security of our citizens.”

The operational command said that it had activated the “defensive procedures” and, with the help of the Polish armed forces “made decisions to neutralize those who could constitute a threat”.

“Some of the drones that have entered our airspace have been slaughtered. Efforts are underway to search and locate the possible crash sites of these objects,” the command wrote. “The operational command of the Polish armed forces monitors the current situation, and the Polish forces and assets and allies remain fully prepared for other actions.”
