President Donald Trump issued his “last warning” to Hamas to accept his agreement and release the remaining hostages or to face the consequences.

“Everyone wants hostages at home. Everyone wants this war to end,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The Israelis have accepted my conditions. It is time for Hamas to accept also.”

“I warned Hamas from the consequences of not accepting,” he continued. “This is my last warning, there will not be another! Thank you for your attention to this question.”

Last month, Trump said the remaining hostages only returned when Hamas is “confronted and destroyed”. At the time, Hamas quoted alleged progress in the cease-fire talks.

In July, the United States and Israel fired Qatar negotiators after Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff said Hamas showed “lack of desire to reach a ceasefire” and probably did not negotiate in good faith.

On August 26, Witkoff told Bret Baier de Fox News on “special report” that he and Trump wanted the hostages to be at home that week.

“There has been an agreement on the table in the last six or seven weeks which would have published 10 of the hostages out of the 20 which, in our opinion, are alive,” he said, noting that he believes that Hamas is “100%” to blame for maintenance.

Witkoff did not explain what is delaying the return of hostages, almost two years after being taken in the attack on October 7, 2023 against Israel.

Fifty hostages continue to be detained by Hamas, of which only 20 are assessed to be still alive.

Trump previously predicted at the end of August that there would be a “conclusive” ending to war in Gaza in the coming “three weeks”, although he did not say how it would be accomplished.

Tsahal spokesperson, Colonel Avichay Adraee, warned the Palestinians in some parts of Gaza City to leave a planned escalation. The warning included a map marking the area and highlighting a building that the FDI planned to strike, citing “the presence of a terrorist infrastructure from Hamas inside or nearby”.
