Minor Angels Leager Rio Foster in critical condition after a serious car accident

Los Angeles Angels prospect Rio Foster was hospitalized after a vehicle accident early Friday morning, the team announced.

“Rio is currently receiving medical care in a local hospital and remains in critical condition”, the angels said in a press release. “We ask that the whole community of angels joins our organization to keep Rio and his family in their hearts during this difficult period.”

Foster, 22, currently plays in minor leagues at the High-A level for the Angels affiliate, the Tri-City Dust Devils. The team was to face Hillsboro on Friday evening, but the match was suspended. The Dust Devils went to social networks to offer goods.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire organization Dust Devils are with Rio Foster who was a passenger in a car accident early this morning and suffered serious injuries,” said the minor league team.

Foster was selected during the 16th round of the 2023 recovery after its visit to Florence-Darlington Technical College in South Carolina.

Athletics beat the angels on Friday. The second match in the three -game series between athletics and the Angels is scheduled for Saturday evening.

The angels enter the action of Saturday in fourth place in the western division of the American League.
