Emmanuel Clase de Guardians, Luis Ortiz to stay on leave paid indefinitely

The launchers of Cleveland Guardians, Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz, had their leave paid indefinitely on Sunday as MLB continues his investigation into the game.
Clase and Ortiz were originally to be sidelined until August 31. But MLB and the players’ union said they agreed to extend their leave “until further notice”. The guards do not comment on the question as long as the probe is not over.

Ortiz was put on leave on July 3 – just before it started against the Chicago Cubs. MLB would have investigated the fact that Ortiz influenced betting betting in the matches he launched.
Clase, a triple All-Star, was put on leave on July 28 when MLB announced that he had expanded his investigation. Clase was a name mentioned as a possible sales candidate before the deadline, but the survey ended the commercial rumprs.

Ortiz, was acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates Guardians before the start of the 2025 season, had a 4.36 and 96 MPM with sticks in 16 departures. Clase achieved an MPM of 3.23 and 24 stops in 48 appearances this season.
The Guardians held the blows through turmoil. The team made a valiant effort to try to reach the Tigers of Detroit at the top of the central division of the National League. However, they knew 9.5 first games before their match against the Seattle Mariners begins.
