Arch Manning had a difficult start in the 2025 season when the Texas Longhorns fell to the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon.
Manning had incredibly high expectations in the fight and had trouble determining the defense of Buckeyes. He had 17 out of 30 with 170 yards by the pass, a pass pass and an interception. He launched the Touché Pass at Parker Livingstone at the end of the match to reduce the deficit. However, Ohio State has retained the 14-7 victory.

The young quarter-Arrière put the loss on his shoulders.
“It took us too much time to bring the ball to the field,” he said, via espn. “It starts with me. … They are a good team, but I thought we fought a lot. It starts with me, and I have to play better for us to win.”
Texas had more than 27 minutes of possession and exceeded Ohio State 336-215. But the offensive struggled to perform in the red zone when she entered inside the 20 -meter line of Buckeyes. The team returned the ball to Downs in the red zone twice in the second half.

Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian defended Manning in his post-match cat with journalists. He credited the defense of Ohio State.
“They have a good plan,” he said. “They have a very intelligent secondary, and they made the vault work. I thought of half-time, Arch having a chance to really sit down and watch the band and understand some of the covers they played, I think that helped him get started in the second half.”
