HUD announces a legal status audit in public housing under Secretary Turner

The Trump administration ordered a national social housing exam in order to illegally eliminate residents in the country, according to the Secretary of Housing Development and Urban Development, Scott Turner, announced on Friday.

Turner wrote that each public housing authority has 30 days to make an audit to ensure that existing orders are applied. The ministry requests information on public housing units, as well as verifiable citizenship or “eligible immigration status”.

“Illegal extraterrestrials will no longer be able to leave boxes of empty citizenship or take advantage of the accommodation funded by HUD, on the tails of American workers,” wrote Turner.

“Currently, HUD serves only one in four eligible family due, in part, of the lack of application of the prohibition against aid funded by the federal government to illegal foreigners,” he continued.

If a program does not respect the request, he could risk “examination” of his own federal funding.

On Friday, Turner told Fox News Channel on “Jesse Watters” that the DC Housing Authority was the first to be put forward, but more than 3000 other PHAs are informed of the same national requirements, stressing that “American citizens will have priority”.

This decision received praise from the Republicans, but skepticism on the part of others who said that it could reduce resources.

“Anyone in this country illegally should be expelled, not sentenced to housing funded by the State!” Senator Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, posted on X.

“This is already the law – the proof of citizenship is a requirement for any public housing or the unit of section 8. requiring an immediate second accounting will not provide a massive correction or expulsion. This will simply turn the staff to serve American elders, veterinarians, etc.

In March, Turner and the Secretary of Internal Security, Kristi Noem, signed a memorandum of understanding to examine social housing due to the wave of illegal immigration during the Biden administration.

“The whole government will work together to identify the abuses and exploitation of public advantages and ensure that those of this country do not receive federal advantages or other financial incentives to remain illegally,” said Noem. “If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave now. The sauce train is over.”

Washington, DC has become a major objective of the Trump administration in recent weeks in the middle of the strong increase in troops of the National Guard and Federal police in the city to repress crime. Other blue cities, such as Chicago, could soon see troops deployed and possible operations to apply immigration.
