“So yes, I put this downright on their knees, and if we want to repair ourselves, then I think Tim Walz and the Democrats in my state really need to sit and have a thoughtful discussion about how we deal with this mental health problem they have encouraged.”

Authorities said two children, aged 8 and 10, had been killed. Fifteen other children aged 6 to 15 and three adults were injured.

The shooter was identified as Robin Westman, whose name was originally Robert Westman. Federal officials, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS), Kristi Noem, said that Westman had claimed to be transgender.

The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, publicly urged people not to use the shooting “as an opportunity to mean our trans community”.

But Emmer criticized the Democrats, both in his state and in the congress, for having renewed their thrust for the control of firearms following the shooting. “It starts at the top,” he said.

“If a weapon would not be available, clearly depending on what this young man, what we know, he would have found another way to commit an odious act like this,” said Emmer. “It was not going to stop it, and this is not what caused the problem. What caused the problems is all the transgender confusion that Tim Walz and his democratic colleagues cause.”

“I wish our governor, rather than calling us a transgender sanctuary state, why does he not say that we are a sanctuary state for all people of all faith, and we will protect them all?”

He referred to the laws signed by Walz which made the state a “refuge” for transgender people. Walz presented its policies earlier this week at the DNC summer meeting: “The highest classified class per capita to be a safe refuge for transgender people.”

But Emmer said the shooter “clearly had mental health problems”.

Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara said ABC News Let the shooter “feed a lot of hatred towards a wide variety of people and groups of people” while showing an “obsession” for mass shooters.

THE New York Post reported that the Westman Manifesto has shown that the 23 -year -old had struggled to have a trans identity.

“I regret being trans,” said the shooter before the attack. “I would like to be a girl. I just know that I can’t make this body with the technology we have today. I can’t afford it either.”

Walz, for his part, did not comment on the identity of the shooter. Recent statements by the Governor have expressed their thanks to the police and condolences to affected persons.

“Students deserve to start the school year full of hope and excitement. No child in America should go to school worried about danger, to lose a classmate, shots during prayer,” Walz said on Thursday afternoon.
