Bipartite anger is preparing for the drama that took place at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the main members of the Senate health care panel forming a united front in the middle of the agitation.

The President of the Senate, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Bill Cassidy, R-La., And the Panel classification member, Senator Bernie Sanders, I-VT., Dove was first heading in the issues resulting from the dismissal of CDC director Susan Monarez, who has aroused a series of agency departures.

Monarez was suddenly dismissed from his post by the Ministry of Health and Social Services (HHS), less than a month after being confirmed by the Senate. His move, which his lawyers rejected, seemed to come from disagreements on vaccines with the secretary of HHS, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., skeptical of vaccines.

Cassidy was the decisive vote at the Kennedy confirmation hearing earlier this year.

Monarez has since refused to leave the post, her lawyers arguing that she had neither resigned nor licensed and had not received any notification from the president of his dismissal.

Following news of his evidence, a series of senior CDC officials also announced their resignation, including the director of infectious diseases of the National Center for emerging and zoonotic, the director of respiratory diseases, the medical director Debra Houry, the National Center for Immunization and Jennifer Layden.

In response to their resignations, Cassidy demanded that the Federal Government Consultative Committee, which was filled with Kennedy replacements recently launched the members of the Original Panel, postponed their meeting scheduled for September.

His request marks the second time this year that Cassidy called on the panel to stop his meeting, a decision that bucks from Kennedy and President Donald Trump, Make America Healthy Again (Maha).

Cassidy argued Thursday that there were “serious allegations made about the agenda, membership and the lack of scientific process followed for the September meeting (advisory committee on vaccination practices)”.

“These decisions have a direct impact on the health of children, and the meeting should not occur as long as significant opinion has been carried out,” said Cassidy. “If the meeting takes place, the recommendations made should be dismissed as lacking in legitimacy given the gravity of allegations and current disorders in the leadership of the CDC.”

Daskalakis has published his reason for resigning on X, where he accused that he is “unable to serve in an environment that deals with the CDC as a tool to generate policies and materials that do not reflect scientific reality and are designed to injure rather than to improve the health of the public”.

Meanwhile, Sanders demanded that a congress investigation be opened on the Trump administration’s decision to dismiss Monarez.

“We need CDC and HHS leaders who are determined to improve public health and have the courage to defend science, not officials who have a history of diffusion of conspiracy and disinformation theories,” Sanders said on Thursday.

HHS did not immediately respond to a request for comments for this story.
