Republicans target Ohio, Michigan Dem House House Seats that Trump won in 2024

Exclusive: From Toledo to Flint, the Republicans target two seats at the Democrats in the Midwest Industriel that President Donald Trump won last year.

In a telephone interview with Fox News Digital de Toledo, Ohio, while “looking at the Maumee river,” said Kaptur and McDonald Rivet are out of step with the voters they represent.

“Kaptur represents Toledo for 42 years, which is longer than some of our candidates have been alive,” said Jack.

Jack described how Kaptur saw a “significant drop in his voting percentages”. In 2016, Kaptur won 68% of the vote. Last year, in 2024, the Democrat congress received only 48% of the vote.

“I believe that it is because, in the past seven, eight years, voters have familiarized with his posture towards President Trump,” said Jack. “President Trump brought this district with 53%, a clear majority, and yet she still voted twice to overthrow the will of his voters, by voting President Trump twice and withdrawing him from his own voters.”

While Kaptur remains in accordance with the Democratic Party on key issues, such as rejecting Trump’s “big and beautiful bill”, its renowned legislation – which includes tax reductions, green energy reform and border security – Ohio has changed red in recent electoral cycles.

“It was previously the state of Eternal Swing of Bellwether,” said Jack. “As we saw from 2016 to 2024, he was increasingly aligned with President Trump and voted massively to send President Trump to the White House three times. This precisely reflects the will of the people of this incredible state.”

The candidates for the 9th District of the Ohio Congress include the former candidate of the GOP and the representative of the State of four mandates Derek Merrin, the representative of the State of Ohio, Josh Williams, the lieutenant-colonel of the National Guard Air, Alea Nadeem, and the Lieutenant-Colonel of the Air Force Wayne Kinsel.

The President of the State Senate, Senator Rob McColley, is also considered a potential candidate. Jack met local party officials, the four candidates said and the potential race candidate during the visit to the Buckeye state.

Jack said the Republicans are excited and inspired by these candidates, saying to Fox News Digital: “When you look at the districts that are looking for a change in the elected office, the ninth of Ohio is one of the first districts that comes to mind.”

In the cross district of McDonald Rivet, Jack also met the American navy veteran Amir Hassan, who is the declared republican candidate.

“While voters continue to find out about the McDonald Rivet representative’s voting register, I suspect that they will raise questions about the reasons why it votes against the president, that the district was massively elected,” said Jack.

When he was contacted to comment, McDonald Rivet’s campaign spokesperson Tom Grandon told Fox News that “works every day to make life more affordable for workers’ families.”

“She has proven countless times throughout her career that she will work with anyone, whatever the party, to achieve this, and she has bipartite invoices that will reduce key costs, such as medicine, taxes and eggs. However, she also fought tirelessly against any day which favors billionaires compared to lower costs for workers.”

Kaptur and the Democratic Committee of the National Congress (DCCC) did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital.
