Zohran Mamdani meets Jeffries representatives, Clarke while New York Democrats retain the endorsements

The candidate of the Democrat mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, met the leader of the minority of the Hakeem Jeffries room, Dn.y., and the representative Yvette Clarke, DN.Y. on Tuesday, while the Democrats of New York continue to suspend their approvals before the November elections.
“Zohran joined MP Clarke and the member of the Congress Jeffries today to meet leaders of the black clergy in the whole center of Brooklyn,” Mamdani’s campaign spokesperson Dora Pekec told Fox News.
Jeffries and Clarke are among the Democratic leaders, including Governor Kathy Hochul and the senate minority, Senator Chuck Schumer, who has not yet approved Mamdani after his main victory in June.
“They are involved in a vast discussion on a certain number of questions, including the crisis of urgent affordability and the exodus of the black New Yorkers of the five districts – and Zohran shared his agenda to ensure that each New Yorker can allow himself to continue to call this city and to live a life of dignity,” said the Mamdani campaign.

Tuesday’s meeting took place in a church in Beford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, which is at the heart of the Jeffries congress district. Clarke, which also represents parts of Brooklyn, is president of the Caucus du Congress Noir.

“I think there was a very significant exchange”, Clarke said to NY1 after the meeting. “The Mamdani assembly has a platform on which it flows, and they wanted to know how it applies to communities in which they reside.”
Clarke said that pastors “wanted an intimate framework where they could really talk about their lived experiences, lived experiences of their followers”.
She declared at the same point of sale last month that she wanted to question Mamdani her refusal past to condemn the term “globalize the intifada”, a term he had since said that he would discourage others from using.
“I think it is better to have this conversation so that my credibility between my voters is, you know, intact” She said to NY1Referring to the large Jewish community in its Brooklyn district.

Jeffries met Mamdani earlier this summer, but the head of the House minority stopped approaching the self -proclaimed democratic socialist candidate.
On Sunday, Jeffries confirmed to the “State of the Union” of CNN, his meeting plan with Mamdani this week, while reiterating that his first meeting with Mamdani in July was “very candid and constructive and centered on the community”.
“I don’t think we have retained an approval,” said Jeffries. “We are embarking on a conversation on the future of New York, on the problems that must be resolved.”

While the two Democrats stopped approaching Mamdani after their meeting on Tuesday, other New York Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez Alexandria, Nydia Velázquez, Jerry Nadler and Adriano Espailt threw their political weight behind the 33-year-old candidate.
Mamdani also went to Washington, DC, earlier this summer, where the mayor’s hope and Ocasio-Cortez organized breakfast with national democrats. Mamdani met several progressive leaders, including Senator Bernie Sanders, an early trainer of his campaign.

However, the Democratic representatives of New York Tom Suozzi, Dan Goldman, Gregory Meeks, Ritchie Torres, George Latimer and Grace Meng have not yet approved Mamdani.
Fox News Digital contacted Jeffries and Clarke to comment but did not immediately receive an answer.
