The state of Texas intervenes in California’s attempts to implement stricter vehicle emissions than those established by the federal government.

After the Congress and Trump revoked three exemptions, the Biden administration granted California, which allowed the State to set strict vehicle emissions than those of the federal level, Newsom immediately continued and published an executive decree ordering the State agencies to continue to support increased standards. California’s attempt to bypass the congress could have an impact on other states, as the provisions of the Federal Clean Act allow them to adopt the more difficult regulations of California as opposed to the federal base.

Meanwhile, a few weeks after Newsom’s decree, Trump administration announced that it would continue California in order to prevent them from rushing with “illegal” emissions. Now Texas joins this fight with the help of the Pro-Trump Legal Pro-Trump Legal (AFL) legal group.

“California’s crusade does not concern innovation – it is a question of abusing the legal system to brush the federal law and impose its radical program on all Americans,” said Daniel Epstein, vice -president of America First Legal. “America First Legal is proudly with the state of Texas to defend competition, the choice of consumers and the rule of law. We will not leave Gavin Newsom remake America to the image of California.”

The DEXAS intervention request, filed on Friday with the United States District Court for the Northern Division of the California Oakland District, asks the court to authorize Texas to become a party to the case so that he can defend the interests of Texans, according to which the Attorney General of the Ken Paxton State and AFL say that it would be affected by the country.

“I am standing with President Trump in his efforts to prevent Gavin Newsom and California from provoking his so -called” Green Energy “vehicle standards in the country’s throat,” said Paxton. “Texas will not look in the other direction while the failed state of California undermines our sovereignty, attacks American energy independence and intentionally adopts destructive policies that would harm other states.”

Currently, 17 other states and the Columbia district have chosen to adopt at least part of the California vehicle emission standards, according to a report Released this month by the California Air Resources Board. The same report notes that, collectively, these states represent 40% of the country’s light vehicle market and 25% of its heavy vehicle market.

California’s efforts to implement stricter regulations on car emissions effectively prohibit the sale of new gas and diesel vehicles by 2035, argued AFL in a press release accompanying their deposit on Friday. Subsequently, Note AFL, strict regulations would then have an impact on car manufacturers because they “would dictate the requirements for all cars sold in the United States”, because manufacturers generally do not produce ranges of different vehicles for different states.

“This means less choice for families, arrow costs and an America remade like California,” AFL said in its press release.

“It is clear that it is not one of those questions that resembles” the Trump administration that does something completely novel “and” shorts to fight with that “, said Michael Buschbacher, the main lawyer working with Amfree. “It’s like downright”, the Congress adopted the law. You cannot cancel this law unless it is unconstitutional and that there is nothing unconstitution here. “”
