President Donald Trump castigated the tradition of “Blue Slip” of the Senate on Sunday, appealing to an unconstitutional affront to his power of appointment and alleging that his rights have “been completely removed from me in states that have only one American Democratic Senator”.
The president refers to his ability to appoint American judges and lawyers, accusing the custom of giving essentially to the veto power to the Democrats on his candidates.
The American senator Chuck Grassley defends the centenary process, claiming that he considers it as a standard which deserves to be preserved for the balance and the contribution of the State.

Blue shifts are a long -standing tradition but are not a codified law, and constitutionally, it has only the power to name while the Senate approves or ultimately rejects this appointment.
Trump’s frustration towards the practice of the Blue Slip of the Senate is not new. In July, Trump described the tradition of “hoax” and a “scam” used by the Democrats to block his candidates and asked that Grassley ceases to support them.
“In simple terms, the President of the United States will never be authorized to name the person of his choice due to an old and probably unconstitutional” custom “,” said his post.

In his first mandate, Trump was able to appoint 234 federal judges, including three judges from the Supreme Court and 54 judges of the Court of Appeal. However, this mandate did not confirm five in the first seven months.
Trump continued in his post to suggest that he was ready to apply pressure and that Grassley should not nod.
“The only candidates that I can be confirmed for these most important positions are, believe or not, the Democrats! Chuck Grassley should allow powerful republican candidates to go up to these very vital and powerful roles, and say to the Democrats, as they often tell us, to go to hell!” He wrote.

Trump’s comments are intervened after the American district judge Matthew Brann recently ruled that Alina Habba had been illegally as an acting American lawyer for New Jersey beyond the limit of 120 days authorized to temporary prosecutors and that the administration had used an unusual maneuver to maintain it in the role.
