Ted Cruz approves the Chip Roy representative for the Attorney General of Texas in 2026 race

Senator Ted CruzR-Texas, approved on Saturday the representative Chip Roy, R-Texas, after the member of the Conservative Congress announced his candidacy to become the next Attorney General of the Lone Stat State.

Roy, who announced his race on Thursday, seeks to replace the current state prosecutor, Ken PaxtonWho decided not to present themselves to the re-election in 2026 and presents itself rather to the American Senate against Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas.

In his approval from Roy, Cruz said that there were several excellent candidates who presented themselves to be the next state prosecutor. The other declared republican candidates include state senses. Joan Huffman and Mayes Middleton, as well as the former American prosecutor for the legal policy Aaron Reitz.

“There are several excellent candidates at the moment in the race for the Attorney General of Texas. All are friends of my friends, and all of them have been strong supporters for many years. Texas is fortunate to have an abundance of strong conservatives who are advancing to direct, at one point like that,” said Cruz in a statement on Saturday.

Cruz said Roy was his first chief of staff and has been a close friend and allied for more than 12 years.

“We have been in more fights together than I can count, and I know that Chip will always fight, always, for conservative values,” said Cruz.

“With more than two decades of service dedicated to Texas, Chip has always shown the courage, integrity and conviction necessary to defend our great state,” he continued. “He is a warrior tested in combat and a fierce defender of the Constitution. I have fully confidence that he will defend the rule of law, will preserve the rights and freedoms of the Texans, and will hold those who threaten our great responsible state. There is no best equipped to direct the Lone Star State.”

Roy made this announcement in a campaign video shared on X, saying that he is trying to preserve the state’s inheritance in matters of “freedom, freedom and self -determination”.

“Texas has a long and proud tradition of going up to defend our homes, our freedom and our communities,” he wrote in a support message. “I run for the Attorney General to continue this heritage … without afraid of fighting, is not afraid to win and without fear of defending Texas every turn. #Livefree.”

Roy said it was an honor to represent the 21st Congress district at the American house and that he was particularly proud “of our work to deliver to the agenda of President Trump and fight to empty the marsh”.

“I could do it forever and be filled with professionals. But the representatives should not be permanent. And my experience by looking at the Texans to unite in response to the devastating floods of the country of the hills clearly indicated that I wanted to return home,” said Roy in a statement. “I want to take my experience in Congress, as a federal prosecutor and as the first deputy prosecutor general to fight for Texas in Texas.”

“Texas is in the process of assault-outdoor politicians, radical leftists and faceless foreign societies that threaten our sovereignty, security and our way of life,” he added. “It is time to trace a line in the sand. As a general prosecutor, I will fight every day for our rights given by God, for our families and for the future of Texas.”

Roy served In the American house since 2019.
