Trump suggests that Chicago could be the next city to see a federal repression against crime

President Donald Trump seemed to refer to the possibility of taking his DC Crime repression in Chicago.
“After we do this will go to another place, and we will also make it sure. We are going to make our country very safe,” he told journalists from the oval office on Friday. “We are going to make our cities very, very safe. Chicago is in disorder.”

Trump called the mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, “largely incompetent” and said that his administration would manage the windy city afterwards. He also said that the inhabitants of Chicago “cried” for federal aid to reduce the crime rate.

“We are going to straighten this one probably then,” he added. “It will be our next after that, and it will not even be difficult.”
While he said that Chicago would be the next one, the Windy City was not the only place where the president called. He also said that federal repression could come to his hometown in New York.

Last week, in an unprecedented decision, Trump launched a federal repression on Crime to DC and provided additional laws to apply the law to clean the national capital. His approach seems to work. Washington, the DC metropolitan police department confirmed Thursday at Fox News Digital that there has been no homicide in the city for more than a week, coinciding with the takeover.
During his presidential campaign in 2024, Trump threatened to federate DC due to the city’s struggle to control crime. August 3 attempted the hijacking of the car and the brutal blows of a former staff member of the Ministry of Efficiency of the Government brought the question to the honor, arousing the national debate. The following week, on August 11, Trump declared a criminal emergency at DC, triggering the federal takeover.
