Rubio pauses workers’ visas for commercial truck drivers after a fatal accident in Florida

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday: “in force immediately”, he would arouse the issuance of workers’ visas for commercial drivers after an illegal immigrant truck driver would have caused an accident that killed three people in Florida.

The concerns about foreign workers driving commercial trucks began after Harjinder Singh, 28, who entered illegally in the United States, led a commercial truck with a trailer on the Florida turnpike to Fort Pierce when he would have tried a U-authorized zone.

This week, the Newsom press office said on X that Singh had obtained a work permit during the first term of President Donald Trump.

Tricia McLaughlin, Deputy Secretary of Public Affairs of the DHS, replied, saying that Singh had been refused in September 2020, under Trump, but that he obtained one in June 2021, under the Biden administration.

Singh was extradited to California Florida to cope with three homicide chiefs per vehicle.
