The GOP Chip Roy representative announces the Texas Attorney General Campaign

The American representative Chip Roy, R-Texas, announced Thursday that he presented himself to become the next Attorney General of Texas.
Roy, who represents the 21st district of the Texas Congress in the American house, made the announcement in a campaign video shared with X which was focused on preserving the legacy of the star state of “Liberty, Freedom and Self -determination”.
“Texas has a long and proud tradition of going up to defend our homes, our freedom and our communities,” he wrote in a support message. “I run for the Attorney General to continue this heritage … without afraid of fighting, is not afraid to win and without fear of defending Texas every turn. #Livefree.”

The race is scheduled for November 2026 – at the same time as the Republicans defend a thin minority in the House during the mid -term elections. A primary is scheduled for March.
The Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, is eligible for a fourth term, but does not ask for re -election as the main state prosecutor. Roy, President of the Caucus of the Caucus of the Freedom House Freedom-Droite, said that it was an honor to represent the 21st district of the Congress and that it was particularly proud “of our work to deliver to the agenda of President Trump and fight to empty the marsh”.
“I could do it forever and be filled with professionals. But the representatives should not be permanent. And my experience by looking at the Texans to unite in response to the devastating floods of Hill Country clearly indicated that I wanted to go home,” said Roy, who has served the central district of Texas since 2019, in a press release. “I want to take my experience in Congress, as a federal prosecutor and as the first deputy prosecutor general to fight for Texas in Texas.”

“Texas is in the process of assault – outdoor politicians, radical leftists and faceless foreign societies that threaten our sovereignty, security and our way of life,” said Roy. “It is time to trace a line in the sand. As a general prosecutor, I will fight every day for our rights given by God, for our families and for the future of Texas.”
