A town hall town hall of the moderate chamber became chaos for a few minutes after starting on Tuesday evening, with pro-Palestinian activists come up with both the member of the Congress and his participating colleagues in what has become an almost constant torrent of interruptions and protests.
The representative Wesley Bell, D-MO., Who beat the member of the extreme left “Squad” Cori Bush in the Democrat primary last year, pleaded several times with the demonstrators to allow him to speak while defending his position on Israel and Hamas.
“Stop talking. It’s not your town hall. You can leave,” Bell told demonstrators about 20 minutes after starting to speak. He said shortly after: “While we are sitting here being divided and fighting, we have other people who take our democracy.”
At another time, his claims according to which the initial attack of Hamas against Israel “was not only a terrorist attack on October 7 was an invasion” was welcomed with hua and peak of the crowd.

Even the calls for “an aid to rise in power” in Gaza were drowned by demonstrators, which prompted Bell to answer: “Do you disagree with that?”
Despite repeated calls for the calm of Bell and his moderator, the demonstrators continued to call him a “war criminal” and accuse him of supporting the genocide.
The event has become more heated over the time, reaching a fever in the end when Bell challenged a questionor labeling the invasion of Israel of Gaza a “genocide”.
“You cannot define the definition of genocide,” shouted an activist.
Bell replied: “No, I’m not doing it … And here is the thing, people can disagree, that’s what makes our country great.”
“Regarding the word genocide, I have somehow disagreeing with you … Because Israel was attacked by an openly genocidal terrorist group,” he said while the demonstrators tried to drown him.
“Hamas openly said they wanted to destroy Israel … And so you accuse someone of genocide, you stand with an organization that says they want to commit a genocide. You don’t see that?”

He continued the hoots: “We must see an increase in humanitarian aid in Gaza, we must see the end of the war. We must see each hostage income, and we must see a viable future for Gaza without Hamas.”
And while the pro-Palestinian demonstrators caught the majority of attention, there seemed to be a large number of participants who support Bell, especially when he tried to bring the conversation to local problems.
“The number one of children in Saint-Louis between (ages) between 1 and 17 years old is armed violence, and there are people who want to talk about it too,” he said, gaining applause.

At one point, a woman tried to directly face the demonstrators.
“Shut up with your white privilege,” could be heard the woman howl. “You have never been hungry, you have never had a hungry child, and yet you want to stand here and reduce the work it does?”
We do not know how or if the activists responded.
The town hall moderator tried to defuse the situation very early, calling security to escort an unruly demonstrator a few minutes after his start.

“Let’s do this in the democratic way, in the manner of democracy. You don’t hear anyone cry. I hear you. As a mixed person, I hear you,” she told activists. “We cannot go through this if you howl, kiss and act as if you wanted to become physical.”
At the end of the night, however, Bell published a statement thanking all the participants for coming.
“I want to thank all those who came to our town hall this evening – yes, the conversations were sometimes passionate, but democracy is messy and we must defend it passionately,” wrote Bell on X. “In the end, we will continue to fight for the region of St. Louis and for our country.”
