Less than three months after its launch, “America Party” by Elon Musk seems to have been put aside.

Musk would have told the partners that he wanted to focus on his businesses and avoid starting a party that could siphon voters of the GOP, the The Wall Street Journal reportedQuoting familiar people with their plans.

Musk would also have worked to maintain links with vice-president JD Vance, considered the obvious heir to the Maga movement, according to WSJ. The point of sale added that the technological billionaire would have told the associates that he feared that the formation of a new political party harms his relationship with the vice-president.

What the fracture of musk with Trump means for the future of the GOP: “Beat the heart of the Republican Party”

Although the plan is interrupted for the moment, Musk’s allies have told WSJ that he had not officially excluded the launch of the America party and could revisit the idea as the 2026 half-founded approach.

After spending months working with the government’s ministry of efficiency, Musk’s time in Trump’s White House ended on May 30. Although they appeared on good terms, President Donald Trump and the technological billionaire began to exchange beards almost immediately.

A few days after leaving the administration, Musk posted on X – the social media platform he has – criticizing the legislation that Trump’s white house was promoting.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t bear it anymore. This massive, scandalous and pork bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for that: you know you have done it. You know,” Musk wrote.

His criticisms continued, including the same and the blows targeting the administration. Musk remained firm in opposition to the bill, quoting the number of expenses as a reason to oppose it.

Trump rejects Musk’s political ambitions like “ ridicules ” in Sharp Rebuke

On June 5, Musk asked a question – and a survey – to his disciples: should there be a new political party? The next day, he announced that “the people spoke. A new political party is necessary in America to represent 80% in the middle!”

Musk asked a similar question almost a month later, on July 4, the day Trump signed the “big and beautiful bill”.

“The day of independence is the ideal moment to ask you if you want the independence of the system to two parties (some would say Unitarty)! Should we create the party of America?” Musk included another survey with his post. In the end, 65.4% of respondents voted “yes”, while 34.6% voted “no”, showing a radical change compared to its June survey in which 80.4% voted “yes”.

Musk announced the next day that “the America party is formed to make your freedom”.

“I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely” out of rails “, becoming essentially a train wreck in the past five weeks,” wrote Trump on Truth Social on July 6. “He even wants to start a third political party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – the system does not seem to be designed for them.”

However, the quarrel between the two seems to have cooled. Social media spates stopped, and at the end of July, Trump seemed to wish Musk, writing on Truth Social that he wanted to see the companies of technology “thrive like never before”.

“Everyone says that I will destroy Elon’s companies by removing some, if not all, of large -scale subsidies that he receives from the American government. It is not like this! I want Elon, and all the companies in our country, to prosper, in fact, prosper like never!

A Musk spokesperson did not respond to a comment request.
