President Donald Trump said that a new directive allowing the metropolitan police service to disclose information to the federal immigration authorities on those they stop at traffic stops is a step in the right direction – and reported that other cities could also deal with a similar policy.

The ordinance, which Pamela Smith, approved on Thursday, intervenes when Trump moved to federate the country’s capital forces and mobilize 800 troops of the National Guard to combat crime in Washington.

“What you say is that it was a very positive thing,” Trump told journalists about the new order on Thursday. “When they stop people, they find that they are illegal, they report them, they give them to us, etc., it’s a very positive thing.”

“I heard that it had just happened,” said Trump. “It’s a great step. It’s a great step if they do that. Yes. I think it will happen throughout the country. We want to stop crime. I think that if the Democrats are not strong on this issue, they will not be able to do it.”

The order means that metropolitan police can share details on their interactions with American immigration and customs agents.

In addition to Trump, the interior security secretary Kristi Noem also praised the new order a success earlier Thursday.

“This means that as soon as they meet someone who commits a crime, they will share this with ice and we can take out these illegal criminals from this country and we will return to American America,” Noem told Fox News on Thursday.

Now that the Washington Metropolitan Police Department has been federal, it remains under the authority of the Attorney General Pam Bondi.

A temporary federal takeover of the metropolitan police service is authorized in emergency circumstances. However, Trump’s decision will probably be challenged in court regarding the question of whether the situation in Washington is considered an emergency.

The national guard troops began to arrive in Washington on Wednesday. These troops are reserve forces which respond to the operations of states and states, generally in accordance with the orders of their governments of the States.

Trump, however, deflected the standard and mobilized the troops of the California National Guard to respond to the immigration riots in June. In doing so, he bypassed the governor of California Gavin Newsom.

However, Washington is different because the federal government oversees the National Guard of the Columbia District.

Meanwhile, Capitol Hill’s Democrats denounced Trump’s attempt to federalize the police and bring the national guard troops.

“First of all, Donald Trump used the Marines and the National Guard to support his mass expulsion program in Los Angeles”. Schiff posted on Monday. “Now he uses tactics similar to DC like a Tinpot dictator. Do not look away. Do not stay silent. If you do, don’t be surprised if it’s your city afterwards.”
