Despite the Democratic legislators who were fleeing and have vital help efforts, the relief of the Républicain of Texas’s Republican Governor, Greg Abbott, were faster than the response of the Democratic Governor of California Gavin Newsom to Los Angeles forest fires.

This weekend, Abbott helped to present more than 60 of the families most affected by the catastrophic floods of Texas Hill Country with relief checks of $ 25,000, which the governor called an initial “deposit” on the still incoming relief.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Abbott explained that the funds were the result of Texas in partnership with the legend of Country George Strait music and other private groups to ensure that the funds collected by the star went directly to those who have undergone the worst damage.

Abbott said he and Strait agreed that there was a “”Need speed to help these people as quickly as possible. “”

“”We have seen in other states when there have been transvestites that occurred there, such as fires in California, and so much money has been collected and has never reached the people who needed it, we want to make sure that this did not happen in the state of Texas, “said Abbott.

“There was a wave of support for Texas organizations to help the inhabitants of this state,” he added. “Now our work is to assure us that he is in the hands of people who need it most.”

This occurs a little more than a month after a large part of the center of Texas underwent a devastating flood which killed more than 100 and decimated houses and businesses.

In response to suffering, Strait, from Texas, organized a concert on July 27 to collect funds for those who are most affected. Two weeks later, the victims already receive the concert’s rescue checks.

Abbott said the Strait insists that “he was doing this for a reason, because he was sick and tired of the people who were damaged and most injured by the storm do not obtain the money they need.”

“So what we have done, we have set up an operation to make sure that we have been able to identify who suffered the worst damage, then ensure that they would be at the reception of these checks,” he explained.

The Strait concert closely resembles a similar star profit concert, entitled “Fireaid”, in California, which raised more than $ 100 million for the victims of forest fires in Los Angeles.

Fireaid presented himself as “a concert of benefits for forest victims”. Aside from music like Lady Gaga, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry and Olivia Rodrigo, the five -hour show presented several stories of victims of the fires of Altadena and Palisades who had lost their house.

Fox News Digital reported in July that six months later, the victims of the most affected neighborhoods in the city had still not received direct funds collected by the concert.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a Fireaid spokesperson told Fox News Digital that “to provide community assistance as quickly as possible, we have associated with approved and reliable local non-profit organizations that had capacity and infrastructure to reach individuals in need”.

The spokesman said that “this assistance offered food security, housing, resources for schools and more directly to individuals from the affected communities”.

They have said that to date, Fireaid has “distributed two financing cycles totaling nearly $ 75 million to organizations helping people on the ground and expect to distribute the remaining 25 million dollars by the end of the year”.

“The funds meet the urgent needs of individuals in our communities – immediate financial aid, childcare services, grocery store, mental health and housing and the reconstruction of public spaces as well as fire prevention. The subsidies were distributed to more than 160 front -lines, to schools and local organizations that have been identified and selected by Fireaid” spokesperson.

Abbott said that several factors had given Texas’ response to the flood disaster very different from that of California.

“It starts with generosity … But the second thing is that we do not let things slow down. We are very empathic with those who have lost their homes, who have had their lives upside down, who try to return home,” he said. “So we were able to cross all administrative formalities and ensure that money was in the hands of those who needed it most.”

He continued by saying that “now we are working with local governments to ensure that these people will be able to take these dollars, these resources, and start this construction process to rebuild themselves.”

This occurs despite the governor’s current confrontation with the Democrats in the House of Representatives of Texas, who fled the State and led to the efforts of the Legislative Assembly to adopt new rescue measures against floods. Democrats fled the state to protest against the redistribution plans which would potentially give Republicans five additional seats in the Congress.

The governor and other heads of state, including the Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton and the head of the Dustin Burrows Chamber, both Republicans, have taken legal action to stop the thug legislators and threatened to withdraw from their offices. Until now, however, Democrats have been able to escape the Texas authorities and have progress by refusing to the Chamber of State the quorum necessary to adopt legislation.

“”We are able to give this to the victims, even if we have democrats who fled the state and have been dishonorable to our state, “said Abbott, adding, adding, adding, adding, adding, adding “”One thing about the Texans is that we are holding and we are fighting if we have principles on which we want to fight. And what these democrats have done, they fled the state, and it is very non-text on their part. “”

He continued by saying that “we will get the financial resources to those who need it, but we also work to provide them with greater assistance in the meantime”.

“That said, there are laws that must be adopted, such as the creation of early alert systems, such as ensuring that we change the rules in flood areas, and things like that.

“Know that the government’s gears to improve the response to this disaster are slowed down and denied because the Democrats do not arise and do not do their job,” he continued. “So, despite the fact that we have a lot of loose democrats who have turned your tail and lacked state and here to do their job, my main objective on which I took my time and my attention is to help the victims of the floods of this tragedy to make sure they get the resources they need and so that we can accelerate the reconstruction process to put their life to normal as soon as possible.”

A spokesperson for the Newsom office directed Fox News Digital to a press conference he held with several Democrats in Texas, including the representative of the State Ann Johnson, who said at the event that democratic legislators “waited to solve this problem” of flooding for two weeks, but “they only put a bill to discuss us and that it was redirect.

“We have an arrest warrant so that we can return to Texas for a single invoice. They don’t want us to come back for floods,” said Johnson.

She accused the Republicans of “using these families as a distraction”, saying: “The governor can write a check now to try to start the process and therefore his decision which is precious to her.”

Johnson suggested that Democrats will “show up” to combat floods, school tests, trafficking in human beings or judicial infrastructure, but not for redistribution voting.

Fox News Digital also contacted Texas House Democratic Caucus to comment but did not receive an answer at the time of publication.
