Trump federalizes DC police, calls “embarrassing” capital crime

President Donald Trump called spiral crime at Washington, DC, “embarrassing” while he is preparing for high issues meetings with foreign leaders, pointing his long -awaited meeting on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This is an emergency,” said Trump to the media at his press conference on Monday morning, announcing that he was federally federal. DC police forces to limit crime in the city. “It’s a tragic emergency. And it’s annoying for me to be here.”

“Our capital was overwhelmed by violent gangs and blood thirsty criminals, itinerant crowds of wild young people, drug addicts and homeless,” he said. “And we are not going to let it happen. We are not going to take it.”
Washington, the DC crime rate, followed the national increase in violent crimes in 2020, when demonstrations of social justice and riots broke out in the cities of the country at the height of the pandemic.

Crime trends in the national capital have reflected and sank in the following years, including carjacking, shots and doping murders before Trump resumed the oval office in January. The city has been in the grip of a handful of high -level crimes in recent weeks, including the deadly shooting of a congress trainee in June, the deadly shooting of a pair of staff of the Israeli embassy in May and a brutal attack on a former government efficiency staff earlier in August.
Local Democratic leaders criticized Trump during the decision to federalize the police, in particular DC prosecutor Brian Schwalb Distant on X that there is no urgency of crime, stressing how violent crimes have dropped “26% so far this year”.

Trump said he could so sincere, it was sincere to conclude an agreement to end the war a few minutes after his meeting with him. The president added that “the exchange of land” between the two nations will probably be part of the agreement.
“We are going to have a meeting with Vladimir Putin. And at the end of this meeting, probably in the first two minutes, I will know exactly if an agreement can be concluded or not,” he said.
