The European Union established their position on the thrust of the “land exchange” of President Donald Trump following a ministerial Powwow on Monday, and told Fox News Digital, there should not be “concessions” until Russia does not accept to stop his war.

“Russia has not accepted the complete and unconditional ceasefire, we should not even discuss concessions,” Kaja Kallas, EU chief, to Fox News Digital in a written statement. “It has never worked in the past with Russia and will not work with Putin today.

“Step sequencing is important,” she added. “First of all, an unconditional ceasefire with a solid surveillance system and ferrusting safety guarantees.”

Kallas called for a virtual meeting of the EU foreign ministers – as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, who debriefed civil servants on “the diplomatic efforts in progress and the situation of the battlefield” on Monday – following the announcement of the next meeting between Trump and the Russian president Vladimir Putin Putin for Friday in Alaska.

While the talks discussed additional sanctions against Russia on Monday, more military aid for Ukraine and more monetary support in kyiv, they also coincided with the comments made by Trump who struck a critical note from the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

European leaders have not yet responded directly to Trump’s revolutionary tone before his meeting with Putin on Friday, although Kallas comments are clear neither that the EU nor Ukraine support Trump’s proposal that Ukraine and Russia “exchange borders”.

“We fully support the end of this war in a way that does not leave a door stolen from Russia to return and restart its attack,” she said. “Ukraine’s right to exist as a sovereign nation is attacked, as well as the security of our European continent.”

The summit with Putin is put at the top of Trump’s agenda this week while the Ukrainian war occupies the front of the stage

The details of Trump’s next meeting with Putin are relatively unknown, although European officials want to remind the two leaders the need to involve them and kyiv in high -level talks.

“The United States has the power to force Russia to seriously negotiate,” Kallas told Fox News Digital. “Any agreement between the United States and Russia must have Ukraine and the EU included, because it is a question of Ukraine and all the security of Europe.”

Kallas has remained firm in his determination that any negotiation on Ukraine must include Europe because the continent is watching his most important threat since the Second World War.

But it is not only the participation of Europe in any security negotiations that EU leaders seek to recall Trump, but the territorial sovereignty of Ukraine.

“While we are working towards lasting and fair peace, international law is clear: all temporarily occupied territories belong to Ukraine,” said Kallas. “Sustainable peace also means that assault cannot be rewarded.”

European leaders during the United Kingdom’s weekend, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Finland and the EU have published a statement affirming that “the path of peace in Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukraine”.

Zelenskyy risked Trump’s anger and sought to set the record straight on Saturday after the American president suggested on Friday that Ukraine and Russia could “exchange” the territory.

“You are considering a territory that has been taking place for 3.5 years,” Trump told the White House journalists in reference to the land that has illegally invaded and occupied in eastern Ukraine. “We look at that. But we plan to exchange. We will recover.”

Zelenskyy replied by confirming that “the Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier”.

“All decisions made against us, all decisions made without Ukraine-these are simultaneously decisions against peace,” he added. “These are dead decisions; they will never work. And what we all need is a real living peace, the one that people will respect.”

In his comments to Fox News Digital, Kallas sought to remind Trump that Putin’s interests were outside a simple seizure of land in Ukraine – it is an existential threat to the European continent.

“The Russian War objectives do not understand more than the territory in Ukraine,” she said. “Russia began this war to destroy the security of Ukraine and Europe.

“An agreement should not provide a springboard for a new Russian assault against Ukraine, the Transatlantic Alliance and Europe,” she added.

The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz invited Trump on Wednesday to Trump, Zelenskyy, and to the secretary general of NATO, Mark Rutte for another virtual meeting with other European leaders before the best interviews of Trump, according to reports.

Trump reiterated his goal on Monday that he will first meet Putin, then Zelenskyy will meet Putin, with or without the American president, to obtain a cease-fire.
