Trump claims DC crime higher to Bogota, Mexico

President Donald Trump said that crimes in Washington, DC, won data from the notoriously violent cities in countries like Mexico and Colombia at his press conference on Monday morning announcing that he federalizes the DC police service to limit spiral violence.
“The murder rate in Washington today is higher than that of Bogota, Colombia, Mexico, some of the places you hear about as the worst places on the earth, much higher,” Trump said on Monday. “It’s much higher. The number of car flights has doubled in the past five years, and the number of carjacking has more than tripled. The murders in 2023 have reached the highest rate, probably never. They say 25 years old, but they don’t know what it means because it goes back to 25 years cannot be worse.”
Trump has led graphics showing the media that the national capital would undergo crime trends worse than other cities in the world, calling them to “take a look at the figures” when he allowed the conclusions of the data.

Fox News Digital contacted the White House for copies of graphics, data and its quotes, but did not immediately receive a response.
