Football mom shares heat prevention advice after the death of her son

In recent weeks, two secondary school players – Joshua Henderson, 16, from Tennessee, and Mikah King, 15, of Georgia – collapsed and died after practicing in the heat.

In 2017, the same tragedy occurred when Zach Martin, 16, died of a heat stroke during summer football training in Florida.

After collapsing, he was taken to the hospital with a body temperature of 107 degrees Fahrenheit.

His mother, Laurie Martin-Giordano, president of the Zach Martin Foundation, spoke to Fox & Friends on Thursday to discuss the means of preventing this tragic result for other athletes.
