Texas Democrats flee the state on primary fears, says the GOP legislator

Many Texas Democrats who fled the solitary star state towards democratic states, in the midst of a republican redistribution effort, comply with the political blow for fear of being essential by “someone even crazy” within the party, the republican representative of the State of Texas, Briscoe Cain, told Fox News Digital in an interview on Thursday.

“If they returned, they would lose in primary school to an even more socialist person than them,” Cain told Fox News Digital in an interview with Zoom on Thursday. “So yes, they are in fact there for fear, not for fear of republican legislation, but for fear of their own people. And therefore they will continue to sit out of the state to their own detriment, everyone because of the fear of being primitive by someone even crazier than them.”

“I can tell you that many of them do not want to be there. They know in the end, they will lose, but because their party has led a lot of crazy people, they must be there,” he continued the Democrats who left the state before Monday.

Dozens of democratic state legislators fled Texas for liberal bastions such as Illinois, Massachusetts and New York to prevent a quorum for a special session as state legislators were preparing to vote on a redesigned map of the Congress for the State before the mid -2026.

State legislators said they were planning to be absent from the state until the end of August at the end of the special session.

The Texas Law requires that at least two thirds of the legislators in one or the other chamber be present to make legislative questions, the minority Democratic Party currently holding 62 seats in the Texas Chamber at the GOP 88.

The Texas House has been stopped since the Democrats fled this weekend. Six Democrats are in the Austin region this week, Cain explained, which means that six other Democrats are necessary before the body can reach a quorum.

Cain said that he had heard that three additional democrats are in the Houston region and that the “narrow” Republicans are probably potentially arresting them for their absence.

“They are older members, and they narrow us to stop them with the idea that” who would stop grandmother? “It’s a kind of smart democratic game,” he said.

The president of Texas de la Chambre, Dustin Burrows, signed arrest warrants on Monday against the absent democrats, following the Chamber of State approving these mandates and the governor Greg Abbott appealing to the Department of Public Security of Texas to arrest the “Démocrats delinquents du Texas House”. Stop mandates are largely considered symbolic that they only apply to those in state lines.

Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) reported on Thursday that the FBI had accepted his request to help help locate the fate of abandoned legislators while the Republicans work to reach a quorum at the return of Democrats.

“I thank President Trump and the Patel director for having and quickly acting on my call to the federal government to hold these so -called legislators responsible for the Texas flight,” Cornyn said in a press release on Thursday. “We cannot allow these thug legislators to avoid their constitutional responsibilities.”

Cain told Fox Digital that the Republicans did “everything in our power” after the Democrats fled the State, including the launch of potential corruption surveys. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into the former presidential candidate on Wednesday Beto O’Rourke Non-profit, propelled by people, on the affirmations which helped to finance the Democratic Exodus of the State, which he described as a political bridge.

“They are investigated for potential corruption,” Cain told Fox Digital. “And the Attorney General launched an investigation into the organization of Beto O’Rourke for corruption as well. I will tell you, under Texas Pinal Code, offering or accepting or knowingly … an advantage for an elected official in exchange for their vote or a kind of discretionary action, as presenting me to work, is considered to be corruption here in Texas. And it looks like a way and we need to launch an investigation.”

In response to the investigation, O’Rourke described the Republicans in Texas as “thugs” who try to “steal our country” and accused paxton of corruption itself.

Democratic governors, such as the governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker and the Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, have since opened their proverbial doors to the Democrats of Texas who have fled the Solitaire Star State.

Cain pointed out that irony is not lost for him that the Democrats fled to states that have long stories embracing the lines of the Gerrymandered voting.

“The irony of all this disengagement, of course, they go to states that are among the worst Gerrymandered states that we have seen.

“We are now able to exhibit and show the world the cards of these hypocrites. And they are also called courageous. But to quote governor Greg Abbott, they are very non-Texan, the Texans do not flee a fight,” he continued.

Texas Democrats flee the state to block the redistribution vote supported by Trump in a dramatic legislative decision

Texas legislators used quorum as a political strategy dating back to 1870, and took place for the last time in 2021, when the legislators of the Democratic State fled to Washington, DC, by the attempt to also block the adoption of the legislation on the vote and the integrity of the elections, as well as the release of 2004 on redistribution.

Cain said that history shows that such stunts have not proven to be fruitful for Democrats.

“Democrats have lost seats whenever they have returned – could be an indication that voters do not appreciate these things. We have also adopted legislation. It is therefore really an expensive and futile decision by which it is just pure theater, a chance to go and collect funds, but they really do not defend democracy at all.

President Donald Trump Encouraged the redistribution in Texas, in particular by noting on Tuesday that the efforts of redistribution in Texas could lead the GOP to collect five seats.

“In California, everything is Gerrymandered,” Trump said in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday. “And we have the opportunity in Texas to take five seats. We have a very good governor, and we have good people in Texas. And I won Texas. I got the highest vote in Texas history, as you probably know, and we are entitled to five other seats.”

For Cain, redistribution in Texas is necessary because its demographic data have moved since 2020, when the State has straightened its polling cards.

“In recent years, Texas has radically changed, our population has changed enormously, not only from the open border policies of Joe Biden, but also because of our great economic conditions which led people to flee California and Illinois and Boston to come and want to live here. To reflect this change of population, we have to update our card,” he said.
