Following information according to which the former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, for non -profit, helped finance the exodus of the Democrats of the State of Texas to leave the State to stop the efforts of republican redistribution, the Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, announced that he would launch an investigation into the issue.

The Democrats of the Texas Chamber fled the State this week in order to end the Republican efforts to redraw the cards of the State Congress. Consequently, the Republicans of the Chamber of Texas authorized the civil arrest mandates for the absent legislators to have deprived the chamber of the chamber of its ability to carry out official affairs. Meanwhile, Governor Greg Abbott then called the Texas Public Security Department to stop them. Civil arrest warrants, however, are only enforceable in state lines, and we do not know how they will be executed.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the partisan battle, a Texas Tribune report said on Tuesday that the non -profit organization in O’Rourke founded in 2019 called Powered by People was among the main groups that finance air transport, accommodation, logistical support and support for anonymous fines of $ 500 a day for the absent efforts of the state.

The report follows a warning issued by Abbott, indicating that the legislators of the ongoing state could potentially be in criminal territory if they request, accept or accept to accept funds “to help violation of legislative functions or for voting purposes”.

“Any loose democrat who breaks the law by taking a pot-two will be held responsible,” Paxton said in a press release announcing the probe on Wednesday. “Texas cannot be purchased.”

In Paxton’s announcement, he charged people with one of the “best groups” providing financial assistance to the Democrats in the Texas Chamber who have left the State to obstruct the redistribution efforts of the Republicans, who, according to them, are essential to ensure that the racial gerrymandering does not take place.

According to Paxton, financial aid could constitute a violation of the corruption laws of Texas and potentially other laws governing the financing of the campaigns, the “constraint of an official and the abuse of function”.

In response to the investigation, O’Rourke described the Republicans in Texas as “thugs” trying to “steal our country” and accused paxton of corruption itself. In 2023, the Senate of the State of Texas acquitted Paxton of 16 articles of dismissal accusing paxton of corruption and corruption.

“The guy dismissed for Bibrey will after people trying to stop the flight of five seats in the congress,” O’Rourke said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “I encourage everyone to fight to send SMS until 20377. Let’s stop these thugs before flying our country.”

Paxton requires documents and communications from people concerning “potentially illegal activity”, noting that he is not afraid to take “aggressive legal action” against the Democrats who have obstructed legislative procedures in Texas.

The Texas Tribune report said that O’Rourke “worked on phones” to encourage Texas legislators to leave the state to block the legislative efforts of the GOP, citing a familiar person with the discussions.

Powered by People is also actively solicited donations on his website to support the democratic effort, promising potential donors that “100% of your donation will support the Democrats of Texas in their fight against the seizure of Trump’s power”.

Meanwhile, the exit reported thatIn 2021, the O’Rourke group propelled by people would have helped collect $ 600,000 to help finance the Democrats of Texas House in the national capital when they tried a similar tactic at the time to obstruct the republican reforms of the electoral laws of the State of Texas.

During a CNN interview on Wednesday, we asked O’Rourke why he helped Democrats flee Texas.

“We could see a similar scenario this time. Is it worth it?” The anchor of CNN, Pamela Brown, asked in reference to the efforts of O’Rourke in 2021 to hinder the legislative procedures of Texas.

“Absolutely,” replied O’Rourke. “If we fail, the consolidation of the authoritarian power in America will be almost unstoppable.”

But Brown challenged O’Rourke to find out if the funds could be “better spent” to help vulnerable Texans instead.

“We have seen him in the past – they flee, but they must inevitably come back, right? You can’t just stay in life, and the governor can continue to call these special sessions,” said Brown. “Do you think the money could be better spent to help these people you mentioned?”

“I actually believe that they can stay long enough to stop this flight in Texas,” replied O’Rourke.
