DNC promises to “fight the fire with fire” against the efforts of redistribution of the GOP

The president of the National Democratic Committee (DNC) promises that his party “will not roll” in his red -cutting duel with President Donald Trump and the Republicans.

“This is not the Democratic Party of your grandfathers, which would bring a pencil in a knife. This is a new Democratic party. We bring a knife to a knife fight, and we will fight fire with fire,” said the president of the DNC on Tuesday, Ken Martin, while he joined the State of the Democratic State of Illinois.

The decision of the Democrats of Texas prevents the legislature of the State dominated by the Republicans from voting on new cards of the congress designed by the GOP in the red state which would create five other districts of the Congress on the right during the request of Trump.

Republican governor Greg Abbott called for the arrest and pursuit of these legislators when they return to the Solitaire Star State.

The republican thrust in Texas is part of a wider effort of the GOP across the country to keep their majority control at the time of a thin house like a razor in the middle of 2026, when the ruling party is traditionally confronted with political opposites and loses seats.

Trump and his political team aim to prevent what happened during his first mandate in the White House, when the Democrats returned to seize the majority of the room in the middle of 2018.

“Donald Trump, Governor Abbott, the Texas Republicans, well they know they are heading for a loss of congress in 2026. They are afraid, and they should be,” said Pritzker. And the governor billed: “They decided that the only way to save themselves is to cheat, to modify the rules in the middle of the game.”

Martin, who aims to bounce back after a couple of Rocky months after winning the elections as president of the DNC in February, argued that the rare denigration of the redistribution of the decade by the Republicans of Texas is a “clear and obvious violation of the law on voting rights”.

The president of the DNC said that it was “a case of testing for the rest of the country. What the Republicans are trying to do in Texas is a model for other red states to lie, cheat and fly their way to victory”.

Martin promised that “Democrats will fight this tooth and this nail”.

“It’s not time for a game to respect the rules and the other party completely ignores them. They decided to cheat and we will answer in kind,” he said. “The Democratic Party has not started this fight, but we are not going to drive. They want a fight and we will give it and we will put all the options on the table.”

Among these options are legal avenues.

And the democratic governors of Blue Bastions proceed to react by pushing the redistribution in their states.

Pritzker, journalists asked if the Illinois pushes to redistinguer to add more seats to the Congress to the Blue Way before the middle of next year, said “here in the state of Illinois, it is possible”.

But while the republican push in Texas to upset the current cards of the Congress does not face the constitutional constraints, the Newsom path in California is much more complicated.

The governor is moving to organize a special election this year, to obtain the approval of the voters to cancel the constitutional amendments that created the non -partisan redistribution committee. A two -thirds majority vote in the Californian legislature dominated by the Democrats would be necessary to hold the referendum.

“The proposal we are advancing with the Legislative Assembly has a trigger only if they advance, to dismantle the protocols that are well established,” said Newsom on Monday. “Will the state of California move forward in nature? The fights? Yes, fire with fire.”
