Kamala Harris returns to the national scene while James Comer Eyes sown himself

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The former vice-president Kamala Harris is back under the national spotlight with his next book on her short-term campaign of the White House in 2024, and she generated a buzz to try again in 2028.
While politicians watch Harris carefully for her next moves, she is also observed by the president of the James Comer Chamber’s supervisory committee, R-Ky., Who is investigating whether the senior officials of the Biden administration have aroused evidence of a mental decline in former President Joe Biden.
Commer almost guaranteed that its committee would contact Harris during an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle” last week. He joined Fox News Channel just after Harris announced that she would not present himself for the governor of California, as some have speculated, and would rather embark on a listening tour to hear Americans and try to stimulate democrats across the country.
“I think that is another great thing about Kamala Harris who does not present herself to the post of governor – she will have more time to come before the chamber’s supervisory committee and testify to the cognitive decline in Joe Biden,” said Commer. “So I think the chances that Kamala Harris gets a summons is very high.”

During a recent appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, Harris was distant from all immediate electoral ambitions. She pointed out that she wanted to hear all the voters, however, not necessarily excluding a future presidential race.
“I believe, and I always believed, that as fragile as our democracy is, our systems would be strong enough to defend our most fundamental principles. And I think that at the moment, they are not as strong as they must be,” said Harris.
“And I don’t want to go back to the system for the moment. I want, I want to travel the country. I want to listen to people. I want to speak with people. And I don’t want it to be transactional, where I ask for their vote.”

Jonathan Turley, contributor to Fox News and professor at the George Washington University Law School, told Fox News Digital that the optics of a conference in Congress would be far from ideal for a potential candidate in 2028.
“This is a difficult question for Harris, who clearly has aspirations to run again,” said Turley when he was asked if he would advise Harris to appear. “The committee can force him to appear. However, the optics of forcing an assignment is not exactly optimal for someone who wants to present himself for this office.”
However, he added that Harris would be a “natural” target for the Commer probe.
“Harris has held a unique place in the interior circle of the White House,” said Turley.
But he and the former Chamber’s surveillance committee, President Gowdy, Rs.C., now a Fox New Chain Animator, was doubtful that Harris would bring a lot of information.

“Is it worth investigating? Absolutely. Is it worth getting it? Yeah. Will she cooperate? No,” Gowdy told Fox News Digital.
The former member of the Southern Carolina Congress, who was also a federal prosecutor, predicted that Harris lawyers would seek to bury any potential appearance in a quagmire of legal proceedings from complaints from executive and / or presidential privileges.
“This privilege was invoked by the two parties several times during the congress surveys,” said Gowdy.
“By leaving the names, just for an analogy, I cannot think of an advisor who would be closer to a president than his vice-president. So, when you put by composing the question of whether or not you can oblige a vice-president to speak of conversations that he had with a chief of staff, with a time, with the president, with the doctor of the president-you are as old as I am the time.
Turley said that house investigators should be armed with “specific” questions to prevent someone like Harris from being able to answer “a question of opinion”.
Gowdy agreed that Harris was a “legitimate” witness to bring and that the question of the automatic use of Biden, in particular for the pardons, “deserves a more in -depth exam”.

However, he warned that a powerful assignment has consequences for non-compliance.
“Prosecutors can send cops and bring in (people). Congress cannot do so. Judges can send marshals or sheriff deputies to witness if the witness is recalcitrant. The congress cannot do it,” said Gowdy. “So your power is as good as you can do to apply it.”
A spokesperson for Biden refused to comment on the threat of Commer’s suction when he is reached by Fox News Digital.
Harris spokesperson and the Chamber’s supervisory committee, the Democrats did not return any comments.
