Trump visits the Turnberry Golf course in Scotland during a five -day trip abroad

President Donald Trump stopped at the Stand on his Turnberry course in Scotland on Saturday during his trip abroad.

Trump landed in Scotland Friday for a five -day trip, and he has to visit his golf station in Aberdee and meet British Prime Minister Kier Starmer and the Chief Scottish government, Prime Minister John Swinney.

Trump and his son Eric played with the American ambassador to Great Britain Warren Stephens.

The president published a video editing of several of his shots in his round in Turnberry and subtitled it with a quote on the famous course he attributed to the legend of golf Gary Player.

“The great player of Gary: ‘Turnberry is, without question, in the five best golf courses that I have never played during my 73 years as a pro.” Thank you, Gary! “Trump wrote on Social truth.

The route hosted four open championships (1977, 1986, 1994 and 2009), but after the riots of the Capitol in 2021, the Royal Golf Club (R&A) announced that the open championship would not come back there “until all coverage in Turnberry would concern golf, golf course and the championship”.

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered on the paved street and bordered by trees in front of the American consulate approximately 100 miles away in Edinburgh, the Scottish capital. The speakers told the crowd that Trump was not welcome and criticized Starmer for having concluded a recent trade agreement to avoid rigorous American prices on goods imported from the United Kingdom

The player, who won two senior open championships during the course, pleaded with R&A to reverse the course last year and praised the station.

“It must come back. Equity in life. Some might say that Donald Trump has done … What about all the other presidents? They all did something wrong. Not only Donald Trump. Each of them. That said in the Bible: forgive us from our intrusions when we forgive them this intrusion against us,” said the player.

“It’s false and it’s cruel and it’s unfair not to bring the open to Turnberry because it is the best golf course. This and Carnoustie. Carnoustie and Trump Turnberry are the two best Scottish golf courses.”

A report earlier this year said that the PGA Tour would return to Trump Doral next year for the first time since 2016, months before becoming president for the first time. Trump bought the Turnberry Resort for $ 60 million in 2014.

The latest professional golf tournament to be held in Turnberry was the 2015 Women’s British Open, won by Inbee Park. He welcomed seven senior open championships, more recently in 2012.

The four open championships were won by Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Nick Price and Stewart Cink.
