President Donald Trump arrived in Scotland on Friday and lost a short time to get away with European leaders for mass immigration, warning that the crisis “kills” the continent and calls him a “horrible invasion”.

Trump has held a key campaign promise by effectively closing the southern border with Mexico while Europe and the United Kingdom, in particular, still find it difficult to go to the crisis while dozens of boats filled with illegal migrants continue to pour into the country from France.

“On immigration, you’d better come together or don’t have Europe anymore,” Trump told journalists after landing at Prestwick airport on Friday evening.

“You were able to gather your act and last month, no one had entered our country. No one. Nobody. And we have come out a lot of bad people who arrived with Biden.”

Biden had several times only when apprehensions varied from 8,000 to 10,000 migrants, its only highest month in December 2023, when 249,785 border patrol apprehensions were recorded.

“Biden was a stiff total. And what happened to happen,” said Trump, repressing his predecessor.

“But you allow this to happen to your countries and you have to stop this horrible invasion that happens to Europe.”

“Many countries in Europe, some people, some leaders have not allowed this to happen. And they do not get the right credit. They should. I could name them at the moment, but I’m not going to embarrass others. But stop. Immigration is killing Europe.”

The United Kingdom experienced a major increase in 2022 and 2023 when small boat passages reached more than 44,000 per year, according to government figures.

Until now, nearly 22,500 people have arrived in the United Kingdom this year after crossing the English channel, up 57% on the same point last year.

Net migration to the United Kingdom was 431,000 last year, dropped by almost 50% compared to 2023.

Hungary and Poland are two of the most eminent European countries to take rigid positions against immigration, in particular irregular migrations and asylum seekers. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is a Trump ally.

Trump is in the United Kingdom for a five-day trip where he will check with his golf stations in Turnberry and Aberdeen, as well as with British Prime Minister Kier Starmer and the Scottish Head of Government, Prime Minister John Swinney.

The president is expected to discuss the latest US trade agreement, an agreement nicknamed “the economic prosperity agreement” last month, which agreed to reduce prices. The United Kingdom is one of the few countries with which the United States has advanced its trade agreements in relatively friendly terms.

“I like your Prime Minister. He is a little more liberal than me, as you probably heard. But he is a good man, he made a trade agreement,” Trump told journalists. “And they have been working on this agreement for 12 years. He did it. It is a good deal. It is a good deal for the United Kingdom”

Trump added that he would meet Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission for obtaining a trade agreement with Europe.

“We meet the European Union. And it would actually be the biggest affair of everyone if we do,” said Trump.
