Colorado Springs, Colorado – The discrimination regulations of more than $ 200 million from Columbia University with the Trump administration lays the basis of a culture of responsibility, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon Shared in an interview with Fox News Digital.
The administration of President Donald Trump celebrates what she considers as a “historic colony” with the university which has become the epicenter of demonstrations rejecting the war in Gaza since the attacks of October 7, 2023 of Hamas.
“I am very happy that we were able to put an end to these negotiations and have an excellent work agreement now with Columbia. They knew that they had an anti -Semitism problem,” said McMahon before his remarks during the summer meeting of the National Governors Association (NGA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The regulations are fighting not only anti -Semitism on university campuses, but measures are needed to eliminate discriminatory hiring practices and improve campus safety, said the Secretary of Education.

Several Jewish leaders have spoken to Fox News Digital of the “existential threat” they say that Jewish New Yorkers have faced since the 33-year-old socialist Zohran Mamdani became the Democratic candidate for the mayor of New York.
During the main campaign, Mamdani’s refusal to condemn the expression “globalizing the intifada” and of recognizing Israel as a Jewish state sparked accusations that it was anti -Semitic.
He has since said that he would discourage others from using the sentence and continually confirmed his commitment to condemn the rise of anti -Semitism in New York.

Yuval David, a Jewish defender and advisor, told Fox News Digital that Mamdani, as mayor, would allow “more importantly, to empower anti -Semitic demonstrators”.
In light of the colony of Columbia University, Fox News Digital asked McMahon if the Trump administration was worried about an increase in anti -Semitism on the New York City College campuses if Mamdani is elected in November.
“We have not discussed this in what we were doing. We are not looking at a specific incident that could occur in the future,” said McMahon.

But the Secretary of Education declared what is most important in the regulations of the University of Columbia, it is that “will set the foundations, so whatever the incidents, you can or not to occur, you are ready”.
McMahon said Columbia now had a “big working relationship” with the New York Police Service (NYPD).
The regulation includes Columbia’s commitment to “enforce strict rules against disruptive protests, to prohibit masked demonstrations and to maintain trained security agents and continuous cooperation with the New York Police Service”.

“They will not hesitate to bring them to make arrests,” warned McMahon. “There will be consequences. People will be expelled. They will be suspended. If there will be criminal activities, they can go to prison.
“The responsibility factor for this agreement is incredibly strong, and this is the message that we intend to send, that students on campus must be in a study environment.”
