From “Super Genius” to “Crazy”, President Donald Trump changed his air about Spacex and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, in a few months, while the technology magnate supported his support for the Republican Party and called for a new American political party instead.
Musk revealed the creation of the so-called “America’s party” after Trump signed his massive bill for tax and domestic policy, to whom Musk firmly opposed due to the concerns that this increases the federal deficit.
“Today, the America party is trained to make your freedom,” said Musk in an article on July 5.
Although there is an appetite for a third in the United States, the so-called America Party of Musk would not be likely to take steam and the technology magnate would have more chance of conducting the reforms of the Republican Party, according to experts.
“Elon’s effort will not go nowhere,” said Republican strategist Matt Gorman in an email at Fox News Digital. “But I have no doubt that it will make many rich consultants in the process.”

Meanwhile, Gorman said that candidates would undoubtedly prefer Trump approval to Musk’s financial support – the largest donor of the 2024 electoral cycle which contributed around 295 million dollars to the Republicans.
“If we give the choice between Trump approval or 20 million dollars of Elon’s announcements, it is not even a competition,” said Gorman, who previously was director of communications for the National Committee of the Republican Congress. “They would take Trump’s approval each time.”
Political columnist Kristin Tate said that even if Musk was useful to provoke public support from the rich Americans of Silicon Valley for Trump, it is unlikely that these same technology leaders will abandon Trump and follow Musk instead.
“Trump is the beating heart of the republican party at the moment,” Tate said in an email at Fox News Digital.
“Elon Musk would better try to shape the policy of the Republican Party,” said Tate. “A third party effort is doomed to failure. Most supporters of President Trump consider effort as hostile to Trump and will not support Musk. Meanwhile, all Democratic voters have been conditioned to despise Musk, so that they do not support it either.”

Tate said Trump and Musk should try to repair their relationship because “the two men bring something important and unique to the GOP.
“By leaving Trump, and the GOP generally, Musk chisel a small fraction of the voters of the Republican Party – a fraction that will not be large enough for his new party to win the elections, but could be a spoiler for democrats in elections with extremely tight margins,” said Tate.
Alex Keyssar, professor of history at the Harvard Kennedy School of Public Policy, said that, given dissatisfaction with the Bipartite system at the moment, it is possible that more third -party candidates can win national and local elections. But it is not clear if this would result in the national elections because the rules governing the elections and which may appear on the ballots represent additional limitations for these candidates, he said.
“There is a lot of popular feeling looking for something else that creates pressures for a third party,” Keyssar told Fox News Digital. “In this sense, Elon Musk is on something.”
However, voters do not seem interested in a third party affiliated with Musk. While 49% of American voters said they would plan to join a third party, 77% said they were not on board if Musk created it, according to a new survey of Quinnipiac University published on Wednesday.

Musk’s relationship with Trump first started to collapse, at least publicly, in May towards the end of Musk’s mandate, supervising the government’s ministry (DOGE).
Shortly after the release of Doge Musk, the two beards exchanged the “big and beautiful bill”, where Musk said that Trump would not have won the 2024 elections without his support. Likewise, Trump accused Musk of becoming “crazy” on the cuts of electric vehicle credits that benefit companies like Tesla, and said that Musk had “worn”.

Meanwhile, Trump is not counting on the take -off of the Musk’s political party as soon as it was, and told journalists on July 6 that he believed that another party simply adds to confusion. ”
“Third parties have never worked, so he can have fun with that – but I think it’s ridiculous,” said Trump.
